Oh, How I Love Filesharing!

Oh how I love free music downloading. How I love finding those tracks I used to have on cassetes. NWA, Tone Loc, Beastie Boys, Kraftwerk, Ramones, Punk, Rap, Funk, 80s Dumb Pop. Oh how great it is to finally have you all back!

I remember searching for a cassete or LP in stores only to find out it was sold out and will be in after a month again. I remember begging friends to lend me stuff. I remeber giving music for a week and never have it back. I remember breaking records and paying for them again. I remember having to drive to Athens to buy stuff that was released only in big stores. I remember paying for music!!!

No More!

Let's all cheer for FREE FILESHARING!

:banana1: :banana2: :banana4: :banana8: :banana9: :thank you:

3 Cheers for file sharing!

Thank you for letting me watch crappy TV when I am bored without the guilt of taping it.

Thank you for giving me an alternative to that ****er named Murdoch. Australia should be ashamed. This house is Sky-free.

No longer do my fellow citizens have to wait for America to finish with their film reels before we get them second hand. In the name of stopping piracy, I can watch some premiers in the cinema with the rest of the world. For other films, I can download them to see what the fuss is about. Thank you.

And finally, you are the collective two fingers to a music industry which has shamelessly lead the rip-off-britain campaign.

We owe you so much.

Thank you.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
