There's a 2008 British TV miniseries called "Lost in Austen" where a present-day woman ends up living in the fictional world of Pride and Prejudice. Nora Ephron was adapting that show for a film when she died in 2012, and as Variety reports (via The A.V. Club), Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-KinneyWild Flag, and "Portlandia" will now write the script.

The film sets the main character in Brooklyn (instead of London, which is where the present-day arc of the 2008 show took place). “Carrie is smart and funny and original, and the project is very lucky to have her,” said producer Sam Mendes.

Brownstein will also star in the upcoming Todd Haynes film Carol.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
