Jay-Z and Beyoncé's On The Run Tour To Air as a Special on HBO

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are teaming with HBO to bring a concert special for their current world tour to TV, Billboard reports. Details about when the show will air haven't been announced yet, but filming for HBO's On The Run Tour coverage will take place on September 12 and 13 at Paris' Stade de France. There, Bey and Jay will perform over 40 songs from their catalog.

The On The Run Tour special is the latest in HBO's long history with the couple: currently, Beyoncé is starring in "Beyonce: X10", a 10-episode series of four-minute clips from her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour which debut on HBO before every new episode of "True Blood". Beyoncé has also previously partnered with HBO for her Life Is But A Dream documentary. Jay-Z, meanwhile, used HBO's platform to air his Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film last August.

As previously reported, the On The Run Tour features 19 stops in the U.S. and two in Paris. It began June 26 in Miami. (Watch footage of that performance here.)

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
