  4. Woman Fired For Eating 'Unclean' Meat 2:53 pm EDT August 4, 2004 ORLANDO, Fla. -- A Central Florida woman was fired from her job after eating "unclean" meat and violating a reported company policy that pork and pork products are not permissible on company premises, according to Local 6 News. Lina Morales was hired as an administrative assistant at Rising Star -- a Central Florida telecommunications company with strong Muslim ties, Local 6 News reported. However, 10 months after being hired by Rising Star, religious differences led to her termination. Morales, who is Catholic, was warned about eating pizza with meat the Muslim faith considered "unclean," Local 6 News reported. She was then fired for eating a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, according to the report. http://www.local6.com/money/3614199/detail.html

  7. Cover me, Boss tells Ted By RICHARD HUFF DAILY NEWS TV EDITOR The normally press-shy Bruce Springsteen is going public tonight with a one-on-one interview with ABC's Ted Koppel. Springsteen is appearing on "Nightline" to talk about the intersection of pop culture and politics, as well as a long-rumored concert tour starring him and a lineup of other politically outspoken acts such as REM and Pearl Jam. 10. Here's one example. I once did some research for the Kineseology dept at UCLA on skaters. In essence, I had to transcribe taped interviews with kid athletes. They would get up every 4 am, and the parents would dutifully take them to practice before school. They had very tough coaches, and the transcripts would discuss the rigermerole that they would have to go thru. These skaters started training at 6 years of age, and this would continue through high school, up and to the Olympics. The parents and kids talked about the strain of no money, no support, abusive coaches, rivalries, along with the usual growing up stuff. These Olympian bound skaters have to do cake and brownie sells to raise money to support their dreams. If you want to learn more, contact the UCLA Kineseology Dept for more info.. Logic dictates, that the other Olympic hopefuls in non-professional disciplines more than likely went thru the save trevails...
  11. Gymnasts, skaters, runners, rowers, skiiers, and the list goes on, are not paid athletes or trust fund babies. How anyone could think that all athletes are weathy or sponsored is beyond me. Man, don't you have better things to do than make ridiculous and condescending arguments?
  12. Web Addiction Gets Conscripts Out of Army Tue Aug 3,10:20 AM ET HELSINKI (Reuters) - A number of Finnish conscripts have been excused their full term of military service because they are addicted to the Internet, the Finnish Defense Forces said Tuesday. 17. Frankly, to think that athletes set policy, or that they all live in Aspen mansions, just shows how ill-informed you are. And - as to your punk-ass swipe at my reply to your post, knock the chip of your shoulder and be as respectful to people on the is board as we are to everyone else or fuck off. You think you have everything figured out politically and that you are holier than thou--but the fact of the matter is you are less tolerant than the people your criticize - pathetic and hypocritical.
  18. have a drink and chill, jipper beats all that walking
