The follow up to the Strokes' 2003 sophomore effort Room On Fire has yet to be given a title, tracklist, or release date, but Gentles did reveal the following in a recent email to fans. "The five members of the The Strokes have been in their recording studio here in NYC making the third album. They're about five songs into it right now, and they're working with a new producer...David Kahne. No word on when they'll be finished, it will take as long as it takes, but we're confident that it will come out sometime this year." The band had previously been holding tight to a "when it's done" line, so Gentles' declaration of a 2005 release is welcome news. Ariels ~ Bent Over and Over Again, December 9, 2004 I just got this cd and i think it's definitely better than the Programmed to Love album (which I'm really into as well). Reading about the geniuses behind Bent (Nail & Simon), this album derives from a life changing experience one of the members had; an illness and a birth of a child. The CD was even recorded in a chapel... and if you listen to the album you might agree that it emanates a touch of bliss and rapture. "Coming Back" is a great song with an 'asianesque' guitar riff. "Sunday the 29th" is probably my 2nd favorite song that has beautiful lyrics. My favorite track is "Silent Life". The vocals, chorus and riffs are just poignant. This song instantly puts me in a good mood. "As You Fall" has great vocals. "Exercise 4" takes you back to Bent's true electronic/pop style. Boy wouldn't it be a treat to see Bent along with Air, Lemon Jelly and Zero 7. It isnt. The reigious intolerant right wing are raising a lot of sabres. You wont see any changes in what the recording industry or movie industry presents. TV is different because it feeds of a mass appeal general audience--but the cable companies are pushing things to the limit...

The music is really well done--the instrumentation and songwriting are very professional. I agree with one of the other member's above - the singing is too high-pitched..you might consider adding a male as a background singer to balance it out. Moog, visionary inventor of the modern synthesiser. It's hard to argue with Rick Wakeman's testimony: '[Moog] came up with an instrument which made sounds nothing else could - an instrument with the X-factor.' Director Hans Fjellestad's documentary, Moog, is a fascinating history of both man and instrument, featuring contributions from a spectrum of famous user/admirers, ranging from contemporary hip hoppers to grizzled prog rockers. Unfortunately, two of the most crucial Moog pioneers are missing: Wendy Carlos, whose Switched-On Bach convinced many that the Moog was actually a musical instrument rather than a toy for making funny noises, non-appears due to reclusive intransigence, and free-jazz intergalactic explorer Sun Ra does likewise on account of being dead. Martin Scorsese has been working on a film about Bob Dylan for two years and there's one important person he hasn't spoken to about it: Bob Dylan. "I'd not like to deal with the man directly," Scorsese told television critics over the weekend in Los Angeles. "I'd like to create the story, to find the story, first of all, and then play it out the way I think it's right." The film concentrates on Dylan's early performing years from 1961 to 1966 and will run this summer as part of the PBS "American Masters" series. Martin Bashir's 2003 documentary prompted an outcry after Jackson said on camera that he continued to sleep in the same room as young boys. Bashir, who now works for ABC News, was called by prosecutors to testify about other things the pop star said that may not have made the two-hour documentary's final cut.
