  1. Russell Wilson may not be playing for the Seattle Seahawks much longer if the team does not give him the contract extension he desires by the midnight deadline that he imposed. If Wilson's time in Seattle does come to an end, there are rumors that he - and wife, Ciara - are most interested in New York. In fact, Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu has flat out said, "Russ wants New York." In February, Fox Sports 1's Colin Cowherd outlined five reasons why a Wilson-Giants move would make sense, including his belief that Ciara prefers to live in New York over Seattle. "Russell Wilson's wife is Ciara. She's a singer and an entertainer," Cowherd said. "She would prefer to live in New York, and the Giants need a quarterback, and there's nobody in the Draft they love. A lot of things add up. Last year of Russell Wilson's contract. His wife would prefer New York. Seattle is not an entertainment mecca...Also, Russell Wilson, good-looking guy, classy guy, incredibly marketable, and kinda buried in the Pacific Northwest." Wilson doesn't plan to sign a contract extension with the Seahawks this season if an agreement is not reached by midnight Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 30-year old QB is set to become a free agent after this season and Schefter notes that sources believe "it will be a challenge to get a new deal done" before tonight's deadline. Wilson and the Seahawks agreed on a four-year, $87.6 million deal in 2015, but he now ranks 12th in terms of annual average salary among quarterbacks, according to ESPN. There's a strong chance the Seahawks will slap the franchise tag on Wilson next Summer, or even look to trade him. However, ESPN reports, "there are no obvious teams willing to surrender draft picks or pay Wilson what he is seeking." View the full article
  2. It feels as though Nicki Minaj is being set up to fail these days. Her European tour has been plagued with technical issues and show cancellations, which have been all anybody wants to talk about when it comes to the world-renowned rapper. When she revealed the identity of her new boyfriend, fans were outraged after finding out that he is actually a felon. Even when she showed up to surprise her fans during Ariana Grande's headlining set at Coachella last night, she still couldn't stay away from technical difficulties because the sound was seemingly not working in their headsets as they sang "Bang Bang." Kevin Mazur/Getty Images The duo of pop stars reunited last night in Indio when Nicki Minaj started to sing their hit song "Bang Bang" to an audience that was stoked to see her on stage. However, things turned sour (and downright cringe-worthy) when the sound was not working in Nicki or Ariana's earpieces. Grande can be heard telling her tech team that they "can't hear anything" while Nicki does her best to deliver her fast-paced vocals, which sound disastrous in a series of videos being circulated. After something like this, you've got to feel for Nicki Minaj. Regardless of your feelings about her, this is something that is so far out of her control that you can't blame the technical difficulties on her. After the performance, she was dragged on social media with live-stream viewers calling her out for the poor performance. At the end of the day though, she should not be the one getting torn apart for this. Watch below. [via] View the full article
  3. Recently, Canadian singer and songwriter Justin Bieber announced he'd be taking a step back from the spotlight following an Instagram post dedicated to fans. The 25-year old pop star admitted he's been experiencing "deep rooted issues" with his mental health for which he is now seeking proper treatment. While Mr. Bieber remains on a much-needed hiatus to recuperate, his wife, 22-year old model Hailey Baldwin (now, Bieber) remains focused on securing more bags for the Bieber household. Nicholas Hunt/Getty Images Last October, reports indicated that Ms. Bieber had registered her full maiden name, "Hailey Bieber" as a way to set things in motion for the release of a new clothing line. Indeed, Hailey might have been inspired to follow in the footsteps of her hubby who also began dabbling in the world of fashion via his clothing line "Drew House", a clothing store offering loads of Bieber gear released earlier this year. Now, reports indicate the model continues making even bigger money moves by filing to trademark "Bieber Beauty", the first steps towards a new business venture surrounding makeup and all things beauty. It seems Justin Bieber's got himself a real hustler and he can be confident she'll keep things afloat while he takes his much needed break from the industry. [Via] View the full article

  5. The passing of Nipsey Hussle is still a tragedy but the love and sense of community that's happening everywhere, especially in Los Angeles, is something that the late rapper is surely smiling down on. Evidence of Nipsey's reach with his music has been proven so strong since former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has shared a statement on the rapper's death. Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images "Was recently informed about the death of @NipseyHussle and I was saddened to hear about his death and the other 10 people killed in Los Angeles last week. How can one take someone's life so easily? 'Baby Don't Cry Gotta Keep Your Head Up Even when The Road is Hard Never Give Up,'" Mahmoud shared. During Nipsey's memorial at the Staples Center last week, Karen Civil read a statement written by former American President, Barack Obama. "I'd never met Nipsey Hussle, but I'd heard some of his music through my daughters, and after his passing I had the chance to learn more about his transformation and community work," the letter began. "While most folks look at the Crenshaw neighborhood where he grew up and see only gangs, bullets, and despair, Nipsey saw potential. He saw hope. He saw a community that, even through its flaws, taught him to always keep going. His choice to invest in that community rather than ignore it...is a legacy worthy of celebration." Long live, Nip. 6. It's a good time to have a Tiger-related name. While Tiger Woods is taking home his fifth Green Jacket, west coast rapper Tyga has added yet another a banger to his resume. Once again teaming with D.A. Doman for that dope, Tyga takes to an up-tempo string driven banger; the foundation picks up where "Dip" left off, only with more of a generalized focus this time around. In fact, it's one of those instrumentals that's undeniably hard, and will likely find longevity well into the summer months. Lyrically, a Tyga don't change his stripes. Hedonism and unbridled sexuality remain his raisons d'etre, the symptom of a DM inbox stuffed with twerk videos ad-infinitum. Painting a picture of his sun-drenched sexcapades, T-Raww spits masterfully over Doman's regal string arrangement, riding the beat with a sharpened flow not altogether present on previous bangers. Clearly, Tyga and D.A. have stumbled upon an elixir of sorts, and they seem more than willing to keep the consistency coming. "Goddamn" may be their finest hour yet. What do you think? Quotable Lyrics Goddamn, you n***as ain't worthy She gon' kiss on my dick like a Hershey Put it so deep, she like baby don't hurt me Fu*kin rappers and athletes she need a jersey Always in the club I can't love her cause she thirsty And I'm watching everything see them n***as lurking View the full article
  7. Last week, Wendy Williams served her husband with divorce papers at their place of work. With Wendy being the head honcho on her talk show, she also seems to have fired Kevin Hunter from the production team, revoking his access from the building and informing her staff that he should not be allowed on the premises. She reportedly handed him a gift box and inside of it laid the divorce papers. After copping a new Ferrari for his mistress, you can't really blame Wendy for being so savage. On today's episode of her show, she's set to finally speak out about her divorce. Paras Griffin/Getty Images According to Bossip, the star will be speaking about her "new life" on a new episode of The Wendy Show today. During the "Hot Topics" segment of the episode, she decided to touch on her own personal life, which has arguably been the hottest topic in the entertainment world as of late. She was vague about her relationship struggles but they were still mentioned as she said: "I’m moving out of the sober house in just a few days, you know. It’ll be Wendy on her own. You know I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction and alcoholism and I have a whole new life that I plan for myself and my son. Believe me you, when you lay in a room with no TV and four gray walls, all day, and no telephone at your all-ready and you lay there and you think about your life — this is my life at the sober house." She continued, "Everybody has things in their life that they’re embarrassed to share with the world, or they’re frightened to share with the world, or they’re not ready to share with the world and addressing my sobriety, my addiction, head on has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life." Do you think Wendy will bounce back with another partner soon? Robert Kamau/Getty Images View the full article

  9. Days before Ariana Grande hit the Coachella stage to close out the festival, fans were convinced she was going to bring out NSYNC for a surprise set. It turns out that fans were not only correct, but they got more than they bargained for since the "God Is A Woman" music maker even invited Nicki Minaj and Diddy onstage. Ariana performed "Tearin Up My Heart" with the 90s boyband and then welcomed Nicki to the stage to perform her hit "Side To Side." Kevin Mazur/Getty Images Nicki's surprise appearance came with some difficulties since her audio was seemingly cut off leaving her standing awkwardly on the stage for a moment. Ariana rallied behind her, keeping the momentum going for the crowd. Diddy and Mase came through for a special rendition of 1997’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” featuring vocals by Ariana herself. Diddy took the moment to send out a tribute to Mac Miller, Tupac and Biggie and even shared some kind words towards Ariana. “Give it up for my sister. She’s been through a whole lot. She’s still standing," he said. Kevin Mazur/Getty Images In any other Ariana news, if you're looking to get even more from the singer she recently trademarked "Thank u, Next" for lotions, perfumes and more so be sure to keep it locked for a rollout of merchandise surrounding the singer and her latest tape. 10. Virgil Abloh and Donald Glover aren't the only ones debuting new sneakers at Coachella. In addition to Abloh's new Off-White x Nike collab, and Glover's first Adidas sneaker, Pusha T also shared a glimpse of his new Adidas sneaker during the first weekend of the wildly popular festival. Pusha T x Adidas Ozweego/@KingPush As seen in the photo above, the latest King Push x Adidas sneaker takes shape in the form of an Adidas Ozweego. Similar to Pusha T's previous Adidas collabs, the kicks opt for a coke white upper accompanied by a cream-colored midsole and a black outsole. Pusha captioned the photograph on Instagram, "Hey guys meet my@coachella friend #NoseCandyMandy thnx for my King Push Ozweego’s @adidasoriginals see you this summer..." 11. Star Wars fans are getting ready for The Mandalorian, which premieres later this year on Disney+. The series, which takes place five years after Return Of The Jedi, follows the gun-toting, bounty-hunting Mandalorian as he hustles to make a buck. The titular character will be played by Pedro Pascal, who previously appeared on both Game Of Thrones and Narcos. While the official trailer has yet to be revealed to the public, IGN has provided a detailed breakdown of what we can expect, thanks to their panel coverage from Star Wars Celebration 2019. During the panel, Pedro Pascal took to the stage to describe a bit about his character. "He’s a mysterious lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy," Pascal revealed. "He has a questionable moral character, which is in line with our best western and samurai movies. He’s a badass." Footage from the trailer reveals some of the secondary, which include Warner Herzog's ominous yet unnamed character, and the villain portrayed by Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito; the footage reveals Esposito piloting a TIE fighter and commanding a few Stormtroopers. Star Wars geeks will be pleased to know that the iconic Assassin Droid IG-88, who made a brief appearance in The Empire Strikes Back, will be appearing in The Mandalorian. IG-88, who will be voiced by director Taika Waititi, is kicking ass and taking names in the trailer, in a scene IGN describes as "visually impressive." Look for the trailer to surface in the near future, and keep a lookout for Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian, coming soon. View the full article
  12. Oh no. Does this mean we’re in for a few years of washed-up guitar bands? 13. Last month, Pharrell and DJ Gesaffelstein quietly dropped off their "Blast Off" collaboration, with Pharrell's appearance gifting the French producer with a solid co-sign in the process ahead of Gesaffelstein's solid Hyperion album, which featured additional looks from The Weekend and HAIM among others. Shortly after his set at Coachella, Gesaffelstein capitalized on the momentum and decided to dish out the new music video for the collaboration. Directed by Warren Fu, the new flick is a balancing act of opposites light and dark and retro and futuristic elements bounce off one another, underscoring the infectious beauty of "Blast Off" as P repeats, "When I'm looking in your face/You give me faith/I feel this faith/This must be fate." 15. One of the men involved in the confusing scandal that found Jussie Smollett in the middle of an alleged hoax after he was attacked in Chicago has now won Chicago's highest honor among amateur boxers after winning a Chicago Golden Gloves championship by way of a technical knockout on Friday. The Chicago Tribune reports that Abimbola "Abel" Osundairo, who was accused of taking payment from Smollet to stage a hate crime, won in the first round of his senior novice division fight for inexperienced fighters under 178 lbs. Outlets that were in attendance say that Osundairo did not want to talk about anything other than his fight and subsequent win. It's only the latest in a string of fortunate events for the brothers who also experienced a high surge in their fitness business in light of the scandal. Abel and his brother Ola says that Smollet paid them $3,500 to fake a racist and homophobic attack. Smollett was charged with 16 counts of disorderly conduct, but those charges were formally dropped against Jussie Smollett after prosecutors felt that they would not have enough evidence to prosecute Smollet for his role in the allegedly staged attack. The city of Chicago has moved forward with suing the actor and signer, however, for $130,000 in costs for the investigation that was launched. View the full article
  16. Shortly after debuting their collaborative "Imported" single, Jessie Reyez and 6LACK took their chemistry on wax and translated it into valuable camera time for the music video for their new track. Shot by Zac Facts, the new clip accurately captures the game of tug and war being played by the two voices on "Imported" as Reyez and 6LACK vacillate between lustful and loathsome tendencies before finally conceding to love. Originally, "Imported" was a solo effort found on Jessie Reyez's Being Human In Public project, but just as she sprung a Daniel Caesar flip of her "Figures" track on us last year, offering a male perspective against her raw vocals, Reyez treats us to a duo that we hope doesn't stop here. 18. If you're asking the right crowd, the first weekend of Coachella was Tierra Whack's to own, with the Philly-bred star making an impact during her debut in Indio, catching the attention of Vince Staples and even joining Janelle Monae onstage during her set. During the weekend, Whack got to enjoy the fruits of her labor backstage as she rubbed elbows with the idols who have become her peers and even got the chance to tell 2 Chainz about the one time she washed his car when she was a teenager. Whack has previously revealed the fun fact, revealing the time that she worked at a car wash in Atlanta when she was 18-years-old. 2 Chainz clearly never caught wind of the story and in a new clip of Whack disclosing the details backstage, he appeared to be in a state of shock. "I swear," Whack can be heard repeating faintly. It was in an interview with The New York Times that she originally shared the story. “I have so much built-up inside,” she told The Times. “To be able to put what I have in my head into real life is just an amazing thing.” She added that the car washing job was her first in Atlanta and helped her fund the purchase of a laptop with which she began her music-making process. “I washed 2 Chainz’s truck, T.I’s car, but I missed Andre 3000.” View the full article
  19. Derek King's latest is the epitome of a cut bound to the potential for massive success by today's standards, and his long list of work as a hitmaker behind-the-scenes only further proves the point. With his latest "Play," King is previewing his More Vibes project and introduces us an instant bop that's likely to keep us going all summer long. “‘Play’ came about from me being in the studio and talking to my producer on how we can re-shake up the world with another follow-up after my latest single ‘Tetris,’” Derek King tell Hypebeast. “We wanted to bring the same type of vibe but in a different way, so we came up with flipping ‘I Need a Girl Part 2.’ My producer T Kelley did the beat and sent it over, and as soon as I heard the beat I had that melody in my head so I put it down. 20. Fresh off an Oscar win for her work on Black Panther as costume designer, Ruth E. Carter is now getting ready to dress the inhabitants of another fictional African country as she preps for the sequel to Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall Coming To America classic. While Black Panther certainly highlighted a much more modern civilization underscored by Carter's choices, she most recently assured fans of Coming To America that the spirit of Zamunda, the African setting in the film, would still very much prevail with a few modern touches "It’s big shoes to step in. That’s an iconic film,” she said at a weekend gala hosted by the Black Design Collective in Los Angeles, Deadline reports. “We’re going to continue Zamunda. We’re not trying to change the look, but we are going to modernize some things to show the new generation.” Frazer Harrison/Getty Images The designer, who has worked on other films that include Malcolm X, Amistad, Do The Right Thing and Selma, was being honored at the Black Design Collective's scholarship gala for becoming the first African-American to win an Academy Award in the Costume Design category. Gabrielle Union, star of BET's Being Mary Jane (on which Carter also worked), was in attendance to sign of Carter's praises. “She’s been a huge part of my career from the very beginning,” Union said on the red carpet. “And she continues to allow us to shine and do what we do best and kill it [...] I hope that with Ruth’s win, it really is about change. It really is about pulling up more chairs to the proverbial table, and if they don’t allow us to pull up our chairs, then we say f–k it and build our own house.” View the full article
  21. Even on the topic of death, Laura Ingraham's support of Donald Trump takes no days off. Most recently, the Fox News anchor, seemingly out of fresh ideas, decided to report on Nipsey Hussle's memorial service which took place on Thursday. Now logic and Ingraham's opening words would have led us to believe that this would be a brief segment simply acknowledging the event and moving on, but of course, we were duped. "Yesterday in L.A., thousands lined the streets to say goodbye to rapper Nipsey Hussle," she began, before transitioning into a nonsensical rant. "Now this dear artist recently released a song called 'FDT' – F Donald Trump," she announces before Fox runs a clip of YG, not Nipsey, repeating the now famed chorus of the anti-Trump anthem. Ingraham and her co-host go on to pick apart the line. "Very catchy," they retort. It is important to note that this segment aired just hours after Nip's family laid him to rest in a private ceremony on Friday, and considering the plethora of topics on the table, it's a tasteless act that attempts to degrade Hussle's legacy. We'd like to think that such an act is, of course, futile considering the outpouring of love and support that has arrived in memory of the artist, philanthropist, and businessman these past two weeks after he was shot and killed in front of his Marathon Clothing store two weeks ago. On that note, the Marathon continues. View the full article

  24. If you've ever taken a plane ride somewhere in the United States hovering closely over select cities, there's a small chance that you may have caught a glimpse of the works of Project Blackboard, an initiative to bring life to the archetypal black basketball courts where streetball finds its roots. What you're witness to are vibrant works of art that double as a playing ground for the sport and most recently, Nipsey Hussle's memory was preserved with a special mural becoming the latest work to come of Project Blackboard, in partnership with the Venice Basketball League. Across 78 feet of pavement, artist Gustavo Zermeno created a basketball court bearing Nipsey's likeness, overpowered by a blue backdrop and the words, "The highest human act is to inspire" written above a profile image of Hussle, who was gunned down just blocks away from the basketball court two weeks ago. The court was officially unveiled outside of the Crete Academy charter school on Sunday (April 14th) and was immediately christened with a high school showcase and All-Star game. It's the latest effort to pay tribute to Nip, whose memorial service was held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, drawing thousands wanting to pay their final respects to the rapper, businessman, and philanthropist. Currently, his suspected killer, Eric Holder, faces one murder count and two counts of attempted murder for injuring two other men who were with Nipsey at the time. Holder is being held on $5 million bail. LAPD allege that Holder shot Nipsey in front of his Marathon Clothing store as the result of a "personal dispute." View the full article
  25. According to a new policy rolled out by the New York City Council, most employers will no longer be able to make job applicants take drug tests for marijuana use. Drug policy experts, per the New York Times, note that any record of similar laws does not exist, even in states where marijuana use is legalized. In Maine, where recreation use is approved, laws prevent employers from discriminating against applicants who use marijuana, but does not regulate their ability drug test or not. This new bill will be applied to both private and public employers in NYC, even companies with headquarters that are somewhere else. Ethan Miller/Getty Images "I’m proud that the city has taken action where the federal and the state government have stalled [...] If we want to be a progressive city, we have to really put these things into action,” said Jumaane D. Williams, the city’s public advocate and the bill’s sponsor, adding that it is not yet clear exactly how many employers in the city will be affected. In addition, the city also passed a bill that will prevent the city from requiring marijuana testing for people on probation. Both bills are awaiting an official signature from Mayor Bill de Blasio. A spokesperson for the mayor's office says that de Blasio is in full support of the employment bill, which would take effect one year after it is signed into law. View the full article
