  1. We were in the thick of the quarantine back in June when it was announced that Rich The Kid and NBA YoungBoy would be releasing their joint project, Nobody Safe, sometime in July. It's unclear why the collaborative album was delayed all these months, but nonetheless, it arrived on Friday (November 20). The two chart-topping rappers provided much of the project as a pair aside from a few appearances from artists including Quando Rondo, Lil Wayne, and Rod Wave. We previously received singles "Bankroll" and "Automatic" from Nobody Safe, a project comes on the heels of two successful releases from NBA YoungBoy: his sophomore studio album Top took over the No. 1 spot on the charts and his surprise mixtape Until I Return that he dropped last week. Stream Rich The Kid and YoungBoy's Nobody Safe and let us know what you think. Tracklist 1. Nobody Safe 2. No Flash 3. You Bad 4. Bankroll 5. Automatic 6. So Sorry 7. Sex 8. Doors Up 9. Woke Up 10. 2. The Coke Boys have returned with another mixtape, CB5. It was back in May when French Montana first began teasing this project during a conversation with Power 106's Nick Cannon Mornings show. "Me and Durk, you know we got Lil Wayne on there," he revealed at the time. "A bunch of people on there man, so I'm looking forward to that. Max B. Chinx Drugz. I just finished up Chinx Drugz's album," French said of the late rapper. "That's a beautiful thing for me." It doesn't look as if that Lil Wayne track made its way to the list, but everything else French promised is on board. CB5 is stacked with features that include Jim Jones, Lil Durk, Pop Smoke, Jack Harlow, NBA YoungBoy, Rafi Malice, Max B, Chinx, Zak, A$AP Rocky, Lil Mosey, LGP QUA, Curren$y, and Benny The Butcher. On Friday (November 20), the rapper gifted his fans with Quarantine Pack, an EP that many have already begun praising on social media. 9. A recent episode of Drink Champs has caught the attention of the ladies from Cocktails with Queens. Hitmaka sat down with the booze-centered show where he chatted at length about highlights of his career. The famed produced spoke about being signed to DMX in his Yung Berg days and beefing with Maino many years ago. He also brought up a few sexual escapades that he claims included the likes of singer Teairra Mari and actress Naturi Naughton. The Cocktails with Queen hosts were surprised that Hitmaka's bedroom antics would be topics of conversation during an interview and Claudia Jordan questioned whether or not having sex was something he does on a regular basis. "Do you think he was clout chasing?" asked Vivica Fox. "'Cause that's what I call that when somebody has to like, okay, what you promoting? What you done done lately?" She couldn't understand why Hitmaka would bring up his sexual history, and LisaRaye McCoy echoed her sentiments. "This woman is married, she's on a wonderful show, she's working, collecting a check and she's a mother," said LisaRaye. Claudia Jordan chimed in, "That reaks of a man who isn't used to getting p*ssy. I have a boyfriend, right. We have sex, three, four times a week. I hit, I smash!" However Claudia suggested that sex may not be a regular part of Hitmaka's life if he has to share his experiences on a public forum. Check out the ladies discussing Hitmaka below. 10. One million viewers were tuned into Verzuz before Jeezy and Gucci Mane even made an appearance on the Magic City stage. As viewers waited for nearly an hour after the show was scheduled to start, fans and celebrities flooded the comment section with predictions: would the two artists, who have been beefing for 15+ years, make it through this entire performance without an altercation? Gucci came out of the gate with a diss track targeting his opponent as Jeezy stood his ground as an untouchable force in the rap game. Brief words were exchanged, tense moments were had, and it felt as if at any moment, things were going to go left. People like 2 Chainz, Papoose, Gunna, Chris Brown, French Montana, Yella Beezy, Bow Wow, Lil Jon, Yung Miami, Ray J, Mustard, Killer Mike, Rich Homie Quan, Ja Rule, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Swae Lee, Juicy J, Travis Scott, Tee Grizzley, Noreaga, O.T. Genasis, Rico Nasty, Tyrese, Funk Flex, Lil Duval, and Lecrae were sharing their thoughts and casting their votes for which artist took each round. At one point, after Gucci performed yet another song that took aim at Jeezy and his deceased friend, the Snowman called for a truce for the culture. Guwop didn't seem to acknowledge the effort at reconciliation, and the tense exchange of tracks continued. However, it was all a ruse. By the time the Verzuz concluded, there were 1.7 active viewers watching Jeezy and Gucci Mane's match-up, and in a surprise move, the pair of rappers shared the stage for the 2005 collaborative track "Icy." The show ended with them celebrating one another, mending whatever previous animosity they had in the past, and acknowledging one another's accomplishments before heading off to the after-party. It was a stunning moment that fans were excited to see, and it proved that Verzuz is a force that can change the culture for the better. Of course, fans began calling for another pair of beefing rappers to mend their ire on Verzuz, but we won't hold our breath for 50 Cent and Ja Rule anytime soon. Check out a few reactions below and let us know if you tuned in to watch Gucci and Jeezy. View the full article
  11. The ongoing rift between Mo'Nique and Tyler Perry continues. The Oscar-winning actress has long aired out her grievances with the filmmaker, Oprah Winfrey, and Lee Daniels. Mo'Nique has asserted that Perry didn't fulfill a promise to get her monies owed to her for her award-winning role in the 2009 Daniels-directed film Precious. She brought up her relationship with Perry in a recent Instagram post where she highlighted Will Smith and Janet Hubert sitting down together 27 years after she walked away from her role as the original "Aunt Viv" on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Mo'Nique applauded Smith for apologizing for how he treated Hubert and suggested that Perry do the same with her. "Hats off to Will Smith for apologizing for what he did to Janet Huberts (everybody’s Aunt Viv) career/life when he was young," wrote Mo'Nique. "Perhaps Tyler Perry, who has admitted in private that he was wrong will follow suit & be man enough to apologize in public like he promised." "We’ll work on Oprah & Lions Gate a little later," the actress added. Then, she penned a message directly to Perry. "P.S. Tyler you won E! PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD for being the peoples champ for your body of work. Tell the truth about a women named Mo’Nique who did nothing wrong & be a champion for the individuals who supported your career for years....THE BLACK WOMEN. PLEASE SWIPE TO HEAR TYLER PERRY SAY IT WITH HIS OWN WORDS." We'll have to wait and see if Tyler Perry responds. Check out Mo'Nique's post below. View the full article

  16. The threat of COVID-19 has been a thorn in the side of humanity for the majority of 2020, a year that has already been memorialized as one of the worst in recent history. For the hip-hop community, the virus has hit close to home, claiming the lives of Fred The Godson and DJ Black N Mild, as well as infecting Westside Gunn, Joe Budden, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Doja Cat, and more. At this moment, Jeremih has been in the ICU fighting for his life, a battle that has prompted many of his fellow artists to weigh in with thoughts and prayers. Bennett Raglin/Getty Images Following the revelation that Chance The Rapper has been playing an integral role in connecting Jeremih's team with numerous doctors, many have looked to Chano for updates on the situation. And while it was recently reported that the 33-year-old Jeremih was still in the ICU as of last night, Chance The Rapper has seemingly found a reason to rejoice about an undisclosed development. Taking to Instagram, Chance penned a lengthy spiritual message, notably spiritual in nature. "FATHER YOU GET ALL THE GLORY!!!" he begins, on Instagram. "JESUS THANK YOU FOR GRANTING US ACCESS TO OUR FATHER! THANK YOU TO ALL THE PRAYER WARRIORS WHO USED THEIR FAVOR TO INTERCEDE ON MY BROTHER JEREMYS BEHALF! WE COME TO HIM IN SORROW AND SO WE MUST TO COME TO HIM IN JOY! I LOVE YOU FATHER." As of now, it's unclear as to what exactly was the catalyst for Chano's message, though the optimistic nature does appear to be a positive sign that Jeremih is on the mend -- at least, to some degree. Of course, until his team comes forward to clarify the situation, everything remains purely speculative. Regardless of how one might feel about turning to faith in a time of crisis, it's still welcome to see Chance acting as a such a wholesome pillar of support -- check out his message below, and send some love to Jeremih in the comments below. Sheck Wes, the famous rapper behind "Mo Bamba" and other hits, declared for the draft, stating that his dream was about to come true. 19. The 2020 NBA Draft put Sada Baby in a bad mood, so he decided to get a few things off of his chest. Naturally, the Detroit artist is a diehard Pistons fan but he wasn't too happy with the outcome of the team's choices. He took to Instagram to share a few thoughts about the chosen rookies, and while he was sharing videos, he decided to take aim at women in the industry who have moved from provocative careers to the music game. "And just 'cause I'm in a f*cked up mood I'ma put it on the flo'," the "Whole Lotta Choppas" rapper said. "B*tch, if you known for f*ckin' pornos and all that type of sh*t, f*ck yo music! Ain't nobody takin' you seriously as no motherf*ckin' artist. Care 'bout none of that sh*t. B*tch, you known for shakin' ass, showin' titties, f*ckin' OnlyFans all that type of sh*t. Whatever, b*tch. Don't nobody give a f*ck about recordin' no motherf*ckin' music. Be real wit' yourself." Sada Baby didn't give any examples in The Neighborhood Talk's clip, but that doesn't mean that people didn't storm the comments to discuss the possibilities. There have been a number of women who have moved from jobs like glamour modeling or stripping to music and have become successful, chart-topping artists, especially in rap, so let us know who you think Sada Baby was talking about. 20. We're close to once again repeating the COVID-19 lockdown that first launched in the Spring as reported cases continue to rise. Over 250K people have died from coronavirus in the United States, causing concern for many who hoped that the spread of COVID-19 would have dissipated to nearly nothing by now. Dr. Dre has been focused on his ongoing billion-dollar divorce from his estranged wife of 24 years Nicole Young, but it seems that the spread of COVID-19 has grabbed his attention. The rap legend and his wife have a deposition hearing coming up, and according to reports, Dre wants to conduct it via Zoom. However, Nicole argues that it should take place in person. Mark Davis / Staff / Getty Images A report by TMZ states that court documents reveal Nicole has argued against a virtual deposition because her husband has "freely entertained" individuals in his home as well as other locations. She doesn't believe that he is concerned with the pandemic because she claims he's shown up at gatherings "without implementing even the slightest amount of social distancing protocol." Not only does she say that Dr. Dre has been with musicians and tech figures, but Nicole also stated he's been seen "entering and exiting the homes of multiple women around the Los Angeles area." She wants them to come together in-person to make sure her husband isn't being coached or fed information. With a $1 billion empire on the line, she's not taking any chances. Nicole reportedly continues to ask the court to award her $2 million per month in temporary spousal support. [via] View the full article
  21. It's been a whirlwind for Tamar Braxton in 2020 as the reality star has had her name attached to controversial headlines. Earlier this year Tamar was admitted to a hospital after her then-fiancé, David Adefeso, found her unconscious. She reportedly attempted suicide and entered treatment following her hospital visit, and then the singer revealed her grievances with WeTV before her relationship came to an end with accusations of domestic violence. Despite setbacks, Tamar Braxton has continued to press forward with her projects including the launch of her newly formed podcast, Under Construction. Alberto E. Rodriguez / Staff / Getty Images On Wednesday (November 18), Tamar's guest was Oscar-winning actress Mo'Nique and the pair discussed "a Love Worth Fighting For." During the chat, Mo'Nique touched on the topic of people questioning her about calling her husband "Daddy." Mo'Nique said, "He's raising me. He's giving me everything that my father did not. And I when I tell you sometimes it can be so goddamn embarrassing and it's just me and him in the room." "See, ain't nobody else in the room and he's had to say some things to me Tamar that has taken me to my knees," the actress added. "And then he'll pick me back up and he'll say, 'Is anything I'm saying to you not true?' And I'll say, 'Everything you sayin' to me is true, but right now n*gga, my ego, I need you to walk away because the crazy b*tch inside of me is gettin' ready to say somethin' and mess up the moment.'" Mo'Nique added that she advises Black women to let their guard down when it comes to love and while it may be uncomfortable, "when you got a king, he's gotta prepare you to be the queen." 22. The music world joined together for prayers, well wishes, and kind thoughts for "Birthday Sex" singer Jeremih as he battles COVID-19. Reported cases of the virus have been on an uptick in recent weeks as many countries, including the United States, have braced themselves for another quarantine lockdown. Many people have come forward to speak about Jeremih's condition including 50 Cent, T.I., and Chance The Rapper, and just hours ago, Day 26 singer Willie Taylor shared a "praise report" to his Instagram page. Gabe Ginsberg / Stringer / Getty Images "Cuddo Mane @jeremih is showing progress, breathing on his own and has been given a lower dosage on his medication," Taylor wrote in a caption to a photo of himself with Jeremih. "God is Amazing. Keep those prayers going up. God is Showing Up and Showing out!!" Meanwhile, Jeremih's family issued a formal statement to CNN earlier today (November 18). According to his loved ones, the 33-year-old artist is currently in the intensive care unit and was breathing through a ventilator. It was an unbelievable turn of events that they called "rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions." They added that COVID-19 "viciously attacked his body" and said they were "grateful" to everyone who has continued to pray for him. "His family would like to remind the world that COVID-19 is real and not to be taken lightly," the statement reads. "Also, It's important for people infected to quarantine and let their families and friends know ASAP. There's no shame in contracting COVID-19, and people that have it need to be responsible and considerate of others." [via] View the full article
  23. Barbz are gearing up for something special as the 10-year anniversary of Pink Friday inches closer. This weekend marks a decade since Nicki Minaj released her certified triple-platinum debut album, and on Wednesday (November 18), the rap icon teased that she has a surprise in store for her dedicated fan base. Dave Kotinsky / Stringer / Getty Images "Barbz, Friday is the 10 year anniversary of Pink Friday," Nicki tweeted. "Get your outfits ready for the virtual celebration." The Barbz haven't seen much of Nicki Minaj in the last few months as she's been keenly dedicated to her newborn son. 24. He's been dropping off breadcrumbs over the last few months about his forthcoming project Richer Than I've Ever Been, and now it looks as if Rozay has a tentative release. It was back in August when Ross revealed the title to his 11th studio album and at the tail-end of September, he shared that he was 95 percent done with the record. In his recent Haute Living feature, Rozay reportedly stated that it will only be a few more months before his project will hit streaming services as he plans on releasing the album in January 2021. Rick Ross reportedly said that he decided to give his latest album this particular title due to a number of different reasons. "To be richer than you’ve ever been, you have to be connected with yourself more than you ever have," Ross said. "Before you open up and allow someone else to love you, you have to love yourself.” He added that although he is doing better than he's ever been because of his wealth, "it's much deeper than that." The rap mogul also discussed what fans could expect from the album, musically. He was able to work more intimately with producers because of the pandemic and believes that his music will "resonate" more than ever. “Well, the music is about, 'Let’s become powerful, let’s attain those things that we couldn’t, because we are attaining them as we speak,'" said Ross. "I don’t want to be one of those dudes who’s getting money and scared to discuss that. I understand there are a lot of things you do keep private when it comes to money. But at the same time, somebody has to be an example to show youngsters that you can make this happen.” Are you looking forward to this project? [via] View the full article
  25. Back in 2019, HNHH and TuneCore came together for the "Heat Seekers" contest which saw numerous up and coming artists get featured on our website over the course of 11 weeks. This contest became immensely popular amongst our readers as it exposed them to various new artists they otherwise wouldn't have been privy to. The initiative gave many deserving artists a platform to get heard, with one artist receiving the experience of a lifetime, in the form of a recording session at the HNHH studio. The session was even led by a famous producer, making the experience that much more valuable. In 2020, HNHH and TuneCore have picked up from where we left off, except this time around the "Heat Seekers" contest is featuring 12 artists over the course of 12 months. If you feel like your music is good enough to be featured, be sure to submit your music to enter the contest, here. This month, HNHH and TuneCore are delighted to present the eleventh winner of this year's "Heat Seekers" contest, Snoop. You're taking a real chance by naming yourself Snoop but this Staten Island-based artist believes he can live up to the moniker. His style is versatile, creeping into several different musical territories while always keeping a focus on hip-hop. The 23-year-old is influenced by a number of lyricists, including Meek Mill and Jay-Z, who he would consider as a dream collaboration. When asked about some of his favorite albums, Snoop tells us that his own Demonlow Deluxe would make the list, showing that he has no shortage of confidence. Check him out on Instagram to get a feel for what he's all about, read our Q&A session with Snoop below, browse his music in the playlist included, and stay tuned for future editions of the "Heat Seekers" series. Where are you from? How has your home influenced your sound/style? I’m from Staten Island, New York; the forgotten borough. The island influenced me because my brother was murdered here; literally 5 minutes away from where we grew up. That alone gave me the drive I needed to attack and pursue anything that I would have chosen in life. I would say that New York as a whole has influenced me as an artist. My music is just as diverse as the people in Times Square. Describe your sound in three words. Three words to describe my sound are Real, Wavy, and Versatile. How old are you? Does age matter to music? I’m 23 years old. Age doesn’t matter with music. Hov can drop gems at any given time till this day? What's the last album you listened to? The last album I listened to was Demonlow Deluxe. Name your top 3 biggest influences. My top 3 biggest influences are God, Mom Dukes, and 50 Cent. Name your dream collaboration. My dream collaborations are with Jay Z and Meek Mill. If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be? If I could only listen to one album for the rest of my life, it would be Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ or, no bias, I’d have to say Demonlow Deluxe. What's your favorite hip-hop sub-genre at the moment? My favorite hip-hop sub-genre at the moment is Alternative Hip-Hop if I had to pick. My favorite genre of music in general though is all genres! I’m a music head. About TuneCore: Many independent artists wonder how to get their music on Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, Tidal, and other stores.
