When summer rolls around the party really gets started – lazy days, cool nights and of course, the soundtrack to ease you through it all. The eclectic vibe of festivals may have you dancing through the daisies but when the heated streets of the city are your fields there’s no need to compromise on that loose summer feeling. Especially when you know the headlining DJ providing the beats is as cool as he is funky! On Saturday the 28 June, Femi Fem, original member of 90’s acid jazz group, The Young Disciples, remixer of massive music icons including Justin Timberlake, All Saints and Des’Ree, DJ at Norman Jay’s legendary Good Times and creator of Rotation, a MOBO award winning club night, is coming to Supergroove at Brixton’s Babalou. From dirty disco and funk to summer vibe house and soul, whether it’s diggin’ it hip hop or shake yer ass breaks, Femi Fem puts a smile on the face and supergroove in your step. Summer most definitely is here! With Alex Parsons in support, better known for his tech house productions on labels including France’s golden imprint of choice, Brique Rouge, his specially selected summer style of funk, disco and retro will be the perfect party accompaniment. When DJs including Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Tiga, Phonique, Ralph Lawson and David Duriez are all fans, having had airplay on Radio 1 from Fergie and being included on the Only For DJs compilation in France, you know this DJ is going to have seriously good taste in music! Whilst past sets include those at The T Bar, SE1, Turnmills, Pacha and The End, you know it’s Supergroove on the 28 June where the party’s truly at ? Plus! Guest DJs Rich Denman, Smutt Junkies and Residents Stretch First will be sharing their box of feel good goodies (of the musical variety of course!) for a dancefloor where the sun always shines and no mud in sight… Advance Tickets: £7 / £8 paying guest list/ More on the door! 11. Album: Trance Energy 2008 Mixed by: Marcel Woods Label: Dance Tunes Released in the UK: April 28th MARCEL WOODS’ MUSICAL MADNESS STRIKES AGAIN From one of the Netherlands’ biggest events comes Trance Energy 15 – two CDs jammed full of the freshest trance and tech-trance dancefloor destroyers – with the second mixed CD coming courtesy of the groundbreaking MARCEL WOODS. Marcel is the DJ/producer who’s been dominating the decks at Trance Energy for the past three years, on both the main stage and on the High Contrast stage. Now he has been chosen to showcase his unique sound on this years’ Trance Energy compilation. Marcel’s incredible mix on CD two – an impossible to define blend of underground trance, techno and electro - begins with the vaunted SVD mix of Sia’s ‘The Girl I Lost To Cocaine’ before dipping into filthy electro territory and back again to trance-meets-rave on his own smash, ‘Avalon’ – and that’s all in the first ten minutes! Marcel’s obvious enthusiasm and passion for creating an impact make this one of the most accomplished and inventive mix CDs in recent years. Advance sales of the compilation are already a staggering twelve per cent ahead of last year’s total sales – proving that clubbers can’t get enough of Marcel’s selections. 12. Artist: AGENT TOGA Title: Waterhouse Label: Brique Rouge France Cat: BR 067 Genre: Minimal/Tech House A: Original AA: Satoshi Tomiie Mix Listen Here @ DJDownload: http://www.djdownload.com/artist/Alex+Pars...ent+Toga/361852 A word from the boss: Agent Toga is Alex Parsons teaming up with Trent Anthony and this is their second release for us, it's call ed "Waterhouse" and it's a long minimal groovy atmospheric house track, actually i think it's a masterpiece, to remix it we had no choice to ask one of the best producers and dj of his time Satoshi Tomiie from saw recordings and the man is delivering the dope !! This is so exciting that I'm losing control everytime I'm playing it in clubs. It's melodic, it's building nicely over tight beats and it has got the perfect breakdown, awesome! I'm very proud of this release on the label. - David Duriez http://myspace.com/agenttoga Feedback: James Flavour (Dirt Crew) - Cool release will play! Laurent Garnier - Will definitely play the original everywhere! Paul Hamill (BBC Radio Ulster) - Amazing. Can't wait to play this out! Mylo - Excellent Hernan Cataneo - Great mix from Satoshi Matt Darey - Good Nick Warren - Great mix from Satoshi Derek Taylor (M8 Magazine) - The original is phenomenal!! Incredible track. Weird but wondeful melody and excellent percussion. The Satoshi Tomiie Rmx is also good but it's the original for me.Will be reviewing for the next issue of M8. Joshua Iz- Can't wait to play it at Fabric this weekend Mason - Ow yeah ! Loving the Satoshi version.... Heard mr Duriez play it live and it sounded amazing. Can't wait to play this out. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Artist: Tommy Four Seven Label: Brique Rouge Genre: House (Minimal) Released: Friday March 7 Catalogue No: BRLTD05 Mixed By: Justin Robertson Mike Monday House of Black Dress Tommy Four Seven "Eat Me Remixes" EP Brique Rouge House Tommy is my secret weapon. He's the new breathe of the Uk House scene, I'm playing or have played almost all of his tracks and everytime it went fantastically ! This guy knows how to make you shake your ass... and picture this - He's only 21! He's one of our English residents along Jamie McHugh and Alex Parsons to name but a few. Those are now iconic of the label, With "Eat Me" Tommy proves he's got a good sense of humor. This is tracky, this is funky. I'm personally digging Tommy's Cake Mix a lot, playing it in almost all my sets. The package comes complete with mixes from London's Most Wanted Supervilain Mike Monday, former Lionrock's king Justin Robertson and Fresh Meat's House Of Black Dress from Chicago whos covering the track with real instruments and even resing the song ! NOT to miss !! - David Duriez ( France) ] Meanwhile, we're unsurprised to hear DJ mag says that Tommy Four Seven "is primed to blow them away in 2008" with "hypnotic ... darker moods ... menace ... seething grooves ... edginess". As we've said, the first releases on Tommy's label Shooting Elvis is the sound of a young producer pushing the envelope just that little bit further than his predecessors were prepared to do. First release is out Feb and there will be contributions from Remute, Darko Esser, Mark Broom and another amazing new UK producer, James Kronier. It's deep techno, but much more experimental than that label usually suggests. Listen to Tommy's recent tracks here: http://www.myspace.com/djtommyfourseven Or samples from his next EP, Strix: http://the-xagency.com Nathan Coles: A fantastic Remix of the original - Can't wait to play it out this weekend.. Thanks ) Disciples Of Sound: Massive song. Love it!!! Wally Lopez: mIKE mONDAY MIX IS SO GOOD,MINMAL SOUND,BURNER!!! Mike Monday: God this Mike Monday guy is a genius! HOBD mix and cake mix are all awesome too. great package Ivan Smagghe: T47 stuff is good. especially when it goes weird. nice to hear justin here... Tom Neville: a future star in the making!!! Jamie McHugh: I was a massive fan of this first time around so it's a welcome update - the Mike Monday mix is the winner for me here - nice to see him back on Brique Rouge! Alex Parsons: HUGE!! Been playing Tommy's mix for months already and loving Mike's ravey touch! Massive support from me. BUY HERE @ https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content...tail/1/beatport

  16. Italian DJ/Producer Marco Demark’s electro-house style is spreading through the international dance scene on the back of his debut single, “Tiny Dancer”. Having spent time in the studio producing new material throughout the first half of ‘07, Marco came up with a remake of one of Elton John’s most famous songs, and it’s proved to be a winner on the dance floor as well as on radio. This classic track has been given a new lease of life by Marco Demark featuring vocalist Casey Barnes. With label interest rising for the track, an association with UK DJ/Producer Carl Kennedy led to Marco signing “Tiny Dancer” to Carl’s own label, Wasted Youth Music. The promo of “Tiny Dancer” hit Ibiza and the European clubs around mid summer, more importantly it also hit the play list of Pete Tong’s “Essential Mix” radio show in the UK and became an “Essential New Tune”. With the new year arriving, Tong continued to back the track with further airplay. “Tiny Dancer” has now been licensed around the world and is gathering momentum with remixes by The Camel Rider, Deadmau5, John Dahlback, Moto Blanco, Craig Obey & RobKay and Andy F. It has also been added to the daytime play lists of the biggest and most influential radio stations in the UK; Radio 1, Kiss FM and Galaxy. This radio play with dance floor support from some of the biggest international DJs; Eric Morillo, Paul Van Dyke, Armin Van Buuren and naturally Pete Tong and Carl Kennedy, have set up “Tiny Dancer” to cross-over to commercial hit status and potentially be one of the biggest tracks of 2008.
