Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme: "Fuck Imagine Dragons and Fuck the Grammys"

You may recall that Queens of the Stone Age helped close out the Grammys last month, performing alongside Nine Inch Nails, Dave Grohl, and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham. That performance was cut off when the broadcast cut to sponsorship messages, prompting Trent Reznor to tweet "a heartfelt FUCK YOU" at the Grammys. Queens of the Stone Age's Like Clockwork song "My God Is the Sun" was nominated for the Grammy for Best Rock Performance, but the award went to Imagine Dragons.

As NME reports, Josh Homme recently vocalized his disdain for both Imagine Dragons and the Grammys while onstage in Houston, Texas on February 9. Homme introduced the Queens of the Stone Age song "I Appear Missing" by declaring, "This next song is by Imagine Dragons." After a chorus of "boo"s from the crowd, he said, "Fuck everything. Fuck the man. Fuck Imagine Dragons and fuck the Grammys."

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
