Interview with MAN WITH NO NAME



One of the godfathers of Goa trance, Martin Freeland kicked off his career in the same era as Oakenfold: he's kept it underground yet still remained a legend in his own right. We’re delighted to welcome the Man with No Name to yet another Elixir event as he plays Seeds of Sun in just 10 days to go. Here’s what he had to say…

1. So why no name? [Don’t you have no shame?]
"Because music is more important than those who make it"

2. If you had your own fantasy festival, what would be the magic ingredient?
"Good quality coffee"

3. Can you name another magical horsey animal that’s not a unicorn?
"An Abracazebra or an Abracadonkey"

4. Great to have you back for another Elixir gig by the way. What ya gonna show us tunage-wise?
"Some things I cooked up a little earlier"

5. If you could do it all again, would you go the Oakenfold way?
"I have a new track - 'Vice Versa' - soon to be released on Perfecto"

6. Your favourite track of all time, if you please sir [one you'd play at a festival]
"It has to be 'Teleport"

7. Finally - if you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
"My cat ... He gets everything he wants and does as he likes"
