Britney Spears has revealed in a telephone interview to MTV's TRL that the 'excitement' of Las Vegas was the catalyst for her recent 55-hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander.

Spears married Alexander in the early hours of January 3rd at a 24-hour Chapel, but the wedding was annulled just over two days later. Speaking to MTV's TRL on Wednesday she said she couldn't understand the fuss:

"I do believe in the sanctity of marriage, I totally do," Britney said "[but] I was in Vegas, and it took over me. We landed on Mars that day -- why aren't they talking about that?" she asked, referring to the Mars Rover landing by NASA.

Spears said she 'hit it off completely' with her childhood friend but declined to answer when pushed for more details.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
