Cassy announces the first chapter in her new project ‘Cassy Presents…’. Currently holding down residencies at four of the world’s leading venues; Panoramabar in Berlin, Trouw in Amsterdam, Rex Club in Paris, and Output in NYC, Cassy now takes the leading role with her own series of events. Kicking off proceedings at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse in London on 23rd November with a specially selected line up including Davide Squillace, Dyed Soundorom, Shonky, D’Julz and Copy Paste Soul.

Cassy’s reputation as one of the finest selectors on the circuit is well documented. Having mixed compilations for the likes of Panoramabar, Cocoon, and most recently the revered fabric series is testament to this assessment. Her unity with the crowd wherever she plays coupled with an encyclopedic knowledge of house music allows her to produce a kaleidoscope of unrivalled rhythm during her performances. It is this that she now aims to replicate in curating her own line-ups, with the sole aim of stripping a night back to its core components: a group of friends playing their favourite records.

Joining Cassy will be a host of artists that are the crème of House music in 2013. Davide Squillace is first up and brings his genre-defining groove that not only guards the much-loved traditions of house music, but also accelerates the movement forward. His imprint This & That has embraced a wide range of influences providing a platform for the most cutting-edge electronic music.

Joining Davide is a trio of his DC-10 peers. Two thirds of ‘outfit of the moment’ Apollonia are on hand representing everything that is positive about the underground.
Dyed Soundorom is without doubt one of the most highly sought after underground DJs currently on the circuit. His story is simple: “Boy goes to party, boy loves party, boy continues to party”, and it is that mantra that Dyed will no doubt evoke this November. His compatriot Shonky always invites a crowd, plus there’s something about his production style that’s so easy to identify him in. Always one to keep the floor full in his room Shonky knows how to manipulate his audience from the ground up.

D’Julz’s consistent success since the early 90’s speak volumes about his creative talents. He is in the strongest run of form of his career, and having played with Cassy regularly over the past few months it is no wonder he is joining her for this party.

Rounding off the line up is upcoming London producer Copy Paste Soul whose forward thinking take on house music will provide the perfect foundation for the main room.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
