Yahoo! Wireless Festival - Day 3

By Maurice Bobb

Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake served up one heck of an appetizer to their upcoming “Legends of the Summer” tour, which kicks off in Toronto this week, with their first live performance of “Holy Grail” at London’s Yahoo! Wireless Festival Sunday (July 14).

The “Picasso, Baby” rapper joined JT on stage the previous night to assist the singer with “Suit & Tie,” but the biggest surprise of the show was Rihanna, who joined the Hov during his performance of “Run This Town.”

The “Pour It Up” chanteuse wore a leather skirt and white cropped top and sent the over 60,000 fans in attendance into a frenzied shrill as she flanked the two t-shirted gents onstage to do what she does best. The capacity crowd was then treated to a virtual sonic smorgashboard of music from MCHG and The 20/20 Experience.

Outside of Rih Rih, Jay and Justin, other acts to hit the festival stage included Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Nas and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
