Earl Sweatshirt seems to be avoiding the rap album pileup this July, tweeting Friday (July 12) that instead of dropping his sophomore album, Doris, this month as previously planned, it will be coming out on August 20. He snapped a photo of the album tracklist and shared it on Twitter as well.

The Odd Future member's followup to 2010's Earl features a bevy of guest stars, including Mac Miller (on the previously released single "Guild") and Pharrell, who produced "Burgundy." Frank Ocean and Tyler, The Creator also contributed to the album, with Tyler downplaying his contribution to the disc today on Twitter: "IVE HAD DORIS FOR A WEEK AND I LIKE IT. ALOT. I HAVE THE WEAKEST BEATS ON THERE TBH"

Sweatshirt tweeted the album tracklist (sans any listed producers or guest vocalists) following a rant about Jay-Z's new record, Magna Carta... Holy Grail. "now that thats out of the way," he tweeted, "DORIS AUG 20th."

Sweatshirt previously canceled a string of festival appearances this summer citing pneumonia . It seems as though he's all better now.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
