Real or not, a video for Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead” hit the Internet Monday (July 8) and it went viral almost immediately.

In the jarring clip, a CGI-version of ‘Ye can be seen getting primal, screaming on cue and bouncing around while spitting the lyrics to politically-charged track. Those who think the video is official point to Yeezy’s performance on “Saturday Night Live,” where the “I Am God”MC channeled the same amount of fury exhibited in the black and white visuals.

Those who believe the video may be an early leak or unfinished or unofficial version point to the Yeezus rapper’s silence about the project and the fact that it was not pushed on his website, which was the focal point for all of his marketing and promotions for his No. 1 charting LP.

While debates swirl regarding the video's authenticity, people are talking about the video en masse and according to the comments on Twitter, fans don’t know what to make of it.

@marsha_venka added, My first impression of the Black Skinhead music video: that Sim is in the middle of a mental breakdown, he's probably very hungry #Yeezus

@KLOSJVAN10 was feeling it though, writing, That "Black Skinhead" video is inane. Lol it's kinda fresh @kanyewest

The jokes: @Kippes101 Ye looked like CJ off of San Andreas in that Black Skinhead music video lol

@SiobhanGrey added, Hm. I'm just going to go on believing that The Wolf of Wall Street trailer is actually the official video for Black Skinhead.

Some fans like @SirCoreGant weren't impressed."Kanye's "Black Skinhead" video looks like the final project for someone who failed Video Design School...."

What do you think of Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead” video?

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
