Hey foodies! Your favorite inventor is back!

In the first "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs," mad scientist Flint Lockwood's machine, FLDSMDFR, was designed to end world hunger and instead turns water into food. This eventually created a major disaster on the island of Swallow Falls, as the machine is still operating and creating mutant food-beasts in a brand new sequel.

The very first trailer for the sequel was released in February and a featurette on the new foodimals was released just last week. Now, another full-length trailer has debuted, and it's filled with more food than you can even imagine!

Check it out after the jump!

In the sequel, Will Forte joins the original cast as Chester V, a famous innovator who has built a corporate empire. After Chester hires Flint, he asks him to return to the island in an effort to stop the machine. Flint reunites the whole gang to help him on the adventure.

There is a major focus on the plethora of new creatures, like a cute strawberry sidekick, swinging "shrimpanzees," and Bananostrich.

The directors from the first film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, have moved on and are currently directing the upcoming "The Lego Movie." Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn took over the sequel.
Most characters from the first are back, including Sam (Anna Faris), Earl (Terry Crews), Steve the Monkey (Neil Patrick Harris), Brent (Andy Samberg), Manny (Benjamin Bratt), Officer Devereaux (Terry Crews, replacing Mr. T) and his father, Tim (James Caan)

Start building up your appetite, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2" will be released on September 27.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
