Slit on UK tour

On Tuesday 28th September, local extreme metal act SLIT embarked on an international tour which takes the band across England, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

This is SLIT's 4th venture in the UK. The 4-piece will be play alongside UK bands such as Godsize, Defenestration, Scurge, Out For Blood, Hi On Maiden and more. The Maltese band has a good following in the UK, and in fact SLIT will be headlining some of the shows.

The tour started locally with two gigs held at Signals on Friday 24th September with guests KNOCKTURN ALLEY, followed by Sunday 26th September with supporting band GREEN PIECE

On their return, SLIT will start working on their debut full length album tentering to be recorded at Temple Studios in January and released on UK-based Retribute Records sometime in 2005.

6th October: Stourbridge - Rock cafe w/Scurge

8th October: Dublin - Voodoo lounge w/Scurge

9th October: Belfast - Katy Daly's w/Scurge (matinee show)

10th October: Kettering - Kennys dead w/Hi on maiden, Scurge

13th October: Hull - ringside

14th October: Wakefield - Snooty Fox w/Scurge

16th October: Kettering O.M.I.

18th October: Manchester Night and day w/Scurge

22nd October: Malta - Signals w/Knockturn Alley

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
