Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' Tops Charts

Robin Thicke says he wants to change the world one soul song at a time, and he’s well on his way. The bouncy summer jam “Blurred Lines,” featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams, achieved new levels of success this week in the U.S. and the U.K.

Thicke knows you want it—his single, that is. On Monday, “Blurred Lines” jumped to No. 1 on this week’s SoundScans Digital Songs Chart. Across the pond, it also topped the U.K. singles chart for the first time. The American singer has the fastest-selling single of 2013 in the U.K., with 190,000 copies sold in its first week, according to the Official Charts Company.

Thicke took to Twitter to show his fans some love: “UK! Thank you all so much for giving me my first #1 single with #BlurredLines. So appreciative," he wrote. Back in the U.S., the singer’s triumphs continued. “Blurred Lines” broke into the top 10 (at No. 6) on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time this week. The song has reigned atop Billboard’s R&B song chart for three weeks now.
