Take A Tour Of Game's Sneaker Closet With Nice Kicks

Spike Lee famously asked Michael Jordan, “Is it the shoes?” in a classic Nike commercial, but the Knicks superfan should ask Game the same question. To kick off season two of their “Sneak Peek” series, Nice Kicks visited Game at his Glendale, Calif. home to get up close and personal with the Jesus Piece MC’s impressive collection of sneakers.

“I got some here and some at the other crib,” Game told associate editor George Kiel in the clip. “Usually, I end up overstocking. Sometimes, the homies take shoes or ask can they have shoes. Yeah, I ain’t no stranger to having nice kicks.”

While doing an impromptu “show and tell” with Nike Foamposites, Barkley Posite Max’s and Air Force One’s, Jayceon Terrell Taylor told stories about buying his first pair of $200 sneakers (Penny Hardaway’s) as a kid and having to steal $100 from his mother to complete the purchase.

"I paid her back, though," he joked.

Among the copious pairs of Air Jordans—Concords being his all time favorite—were the most exclusive pair of kicks in his arsenal: a game-worn, autographed pair of Kobe Bryant’s. They just so happened to be the very pair the Black Mamba wore as he lit up the Toronto Raptors for 81 points. Game brought the shoes out and shot the camera a look, as if nothing else needed to be said.

Before rounding out the segment with a tour of his exquisite whips, Game, who also has an untold amount of sneakers in his other two Los Angeles area homes, talked about getting his Yeezy II's straight from the Yeezus man himself and why Air Force One's are such a classic sneaker. “Air Force One’s the most classic Nike you can have,” he said. “I got like 1,000 pairs of Air Force One’s. If you don’t know anything about Dr. Dre, you need to know he wears Air Force One’s everyday to this day. Fresh white pair every day, brand new.”
