I met Matthew from Hysteric Maniacs and I felt I had to ask some of those cheeky questions; something you all want to hear...Hysteric Maniacs are now building a better name and will be with us introducing Lars Klein next 9th

October.

"Our aim is continuing to build up a better name because we are still commencing to organise events, this is just our second one," claims Matthew.

"Lars Klein is one of my favorite artists...I really like his music, he's got his own style of producing music with melodic tunes to hard banging stuff. So as a promoter I really pass from hard times when some problems crop up out of nowhere namely events on the same day; problems with flights and accomodation for foreign DJs...That's why the things that worries me most is making a bad name, cause I'm here to have fun on the

dancefloor with all the clubbers, and it's more than enthusiasm that drives me along. Everything we promise for sure, will be done. We don't like to fool around."

Price of the event is important, the quality versus quantity aspect to consider. "Do you actually plan to make money, sincerely?" I dare ask.

"As everybody knows the ticket price is Lm5.50 so if one stops just for a sec and starts thinking, I think it's good value for money: 3 live PAs, 9 local artists, 2 rooms, obviously Lars Klein, club hiring, decor and all other sound equipment...We don't want to make money from people but we want to have fun with people who really have a feel for techno music."

"What about three techno events in a row starting tomorrow, Body Machine and Saturday after your event Hades' comes back? Is it greediness?"

"Might be," Matthew answers ironically. "But I don't think Body Machine will effect that much since there is a two week distance between the events and neither Hades because it focuses on electro. Actually these are three

quality events not be missed! So one advice, don't spend money on futile stuff that ruins the fun, just go and have fun listening, jumping and dancing with real quality music. Lars Klein will be our last event this year. Next year's plan will be continuing to give you the best of techno!"

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
