Body Machine next Saturday...

Monday, 20 September, 2004

More of the electro and techno events to look forward to... Next Saturday Body Machine in association with Fact will bring another two names worth watching: Savas Pascalidis and Andreas Kremer! Promising a different club setup at Liquid together with big screens and interesting aspects worth checking out namely Candy Floss Heroes, Midget Dancers and Helicopter rides... Let's see what that means!?

A word about Savas Pascalidis - Inspired by his dad, a Greek DJ, and influenced by disco and early 80s music; he starts his career in 1985 as a house/disco/funk DJ in several clubs in Stuttgart. In 1988 he turns more acid and new beat - what was quite popular back then. From 1990 he played the first weekly techno parties in Stuttgart and keeps spinning in many clubs. In 1994 he starts producing his own tracks. The first release was released on Affie Yussuf's label, 909 perversions: "The Power of music" and "Masterblaster", became underground hits. We must expect a combination of techno beats with a tip of disco glitter!

Andreas is one of todays' most innovative techno producers, and one of the leading lights in the German techno scene. He has made a name for himself around the World with his sound of Mayhem Techno. His techno sound has reached many throughout his career. Since starting in 1983, he has been around the very influential German underground scene for years. His discography reads longer than the bible with an outstanding amount of work put into his production, that has been widely regarded in many compilations worldwide. His Musical Influence comes from the Sound of Depeche Mode, Giorgio Moroder, Kraftwerk, Front 242, New Order, Jean Michel Jarre, Paul Hardcastle, Moskwa TV, New Beat, House, ClubMusic & all the Old Electronic Styles & DJs at the end of the 80s.. www.andreaskremer.com

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
