Kanye West is scheduled to close the current season of "Saturday Night Live" with a performance on May 18, so we're expecting a new single any minute now, and word is that his entire album is complete.

Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg revealed on air Monday (via Miss Info) that West dropped by the Def Jam offices in NYC last week to preview the album for a small group of people. Rosenberg described the album as "dark but really good," adding that Ye's girlfriend Kim Kardashian was in tow as well.

The members of Daft Punk got a sample of the album in Paris a few weeks back, telling Rolling Stone that Kanye recorded some vocals over drum beats they presented to him, and according to them, "It was very raw: he was rapping — kind of screaming primally, actually." Sounds like this will be one for the history books.

There have been plenty of rumored album titles for this new project, including I Am God, Rich Black American  and Black American Psycho, all of which were eventually dismissed as rumors.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
