Nobody Cares

Got to go home so we can feed the dog
To hell with that veteran laying on the ground
Got to watch another football game
It's dog eat dog in this twisted town

NASCAR drivers burning gas like it's cheap
Driving in circles til they hit the wall
Minorities taking over the government
Secretly wanting this country to fall

Nobody Cares about me
Nobody Cares about you
No point trying to explain
Nobody Cares what you do
If you go down
You go down alone
If you get up
You get up alone

Got to take our cat to get its nails cut
As the national debt of 17 trillion climbs
Prices spiraling way out of control
Preachers wanting money to perpetuate lies

Cops cruising streets like packs of jackals
Wanting more guns than they had last year
Hoping that me and you break their laws
Adding more fuel to our hatred and fear

Nobody Cares about me
Nobody Cares about you
No point trying to explain
Nobody Cares what you do
If you go down
You go down alone
If you get up
You get up alone

Everybody's trying to be a star
314 million out for themselves
So few left putting food on the table
No one gives a damn about anyone else

When we die, they'll stick us in the ground
Pretend they care when they couldn't care less
They'll cover us with dirt and go their way
Having cleaned up another stinking mess

Chorus

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
