After "Expendables 2" expanded the cast of action legends and went on to make $300 million globally, the fanboys of the 80s throwback series wanted to know who would be added next. There were rumors of Nicolas Cage and Jackie Chan and Bill Clinton(?), but no definite words.

Now the mastermind of the series and the leader of the Expendables, Sylvester Stallone, has taken to Twitter to give his fans an update about where things stand.

"Writing EX3 at the moment," Stallone said. "There are going to be mountains of surprises."

Among the non-casting changes Stallone wants to put in place for the threequel is the addition of more jokes. (As if "I now pronounce you man and knife" wasn't funny enough.)

"EX3 needs NEW blood and more humor.... The films were always meant to be more on the humorous side with moments of drama," Stallone said.

The action legend did have some casting news, but it's bad news for anyone hoping for a Steven Seagal appearance. Jackie Chan, however, may still be in the cards. "No S. Seagal, sorry ,but maybe we get lucky with J. Chan!"

Aside from the expected old-timers, Stallone wants to include a younger generation this time around. "And some young bloods!!! By young I mean 22 to 27. Not big bruisers but tech wizard, super brains and a young woman who is not a sex symbol but funny ,tough,REAL," he wrote.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
