Will Chris Brown Return To Twitter After Feud With Comedian?

Chris Brown disappeared from Twitter after a heated exchange with comedian Jenny Johnson on Sunday night, but if history is to repeat itself, it seems likely that the 23-year-old singer will eventually make his way back to the social media site, when some of the heat blows over.

Brown has a well-documented history of impulsively tweeting out, er, incriminating and inappropriate messages and later deleting them in an effort to hide the evidence (like that photo after the bottle-throwing brawl with Drake). But in each and every case he seems to forget that it's impossible to to ever take those tweets back.

Further than simply deleting tweets, Brown has even suspended his Twitter account before, in order to avoid some of the negative comments that were flooding his @mentions, and we can't imagine that it's any different this time around. In 2009 he vanished from the social media site for awhile, after going on a rant about retailers who refused to carry his Graffiti album, following his assault on Rihanna.

The spat with Johnson started when the singer posted a photo of himself captioned, "I look old as f---! I'm only 23" and she shot back with, "I know! Being a worthless piece of s--- can really age a person." From there, there was no chance of either party backing down. Johnson threw in a comment about his mom, including a link to an MTV News story from 2009 detailing the assault, and that opened the gates for him to threaten that he would "s--- right on your retina."

The stream of tweets continued for awhile, with Brown eventually telling his fans, "To teambreezy . . . Know that I'm not upset. Just felt like entertaining the ignorance. These bitches crazy . . . Further proved my point of how immature society is. #CarpeDiem." Johnson, didn't let that one go easily though, responding with,  "According to Team Breezy, if you have a difference of opinion with someone, 'eating a dick' is the cure for any and all problems. #Knowledge."

The question now is, how long until Brown gets back to Twitter, or is there really a chance that he'll quit for good?

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
