French Montana spent so many years in rap’s underground, but after a strong outing in 2012 the Bronx, New York MC proved that he is here to stay.

Not only has the Coke Boy banked a few hit singles with “Shot Caller” and “Pop That,” he also found himself in the middle of a back and forth with 50 Cent, a verbal confrontation that he is not backing down from.

During a recent interview with DJ Drama on his Shade 45 radio show, French threw a low-key shot at Fif after the Gangsta Grillz disc jock asked about the status of his solo debut Excuse My French and his standing at Interscope Records. “I am thee most important person in that building. That’s how you gotta look at it,” Montana said before tossing a jab at his label mate 50 Cent. “You know Donkey ain’t doin’ to good. You know it’s bad over there.”

Montana did acknowledge the efforts of Kendrick Lamar, who had an impressive first week sales run with his good kid, m.A.A.d city LP in October, but that was it.

It all started after 50 took exception to a comment that French made in on Complex.com back in October. “I feel like beef hurt him. I feel like it helped Ross unite people,” Montana explained to the site using Fif's issue with Ross as a specific example of why he chooses to stay out of rap wars.

“French Montana you ain't Sh-- boy. You out your league talking about me you hoe.i read your little interview what the fucx is you high,” Fif responded on Twitter.

The two have been at odds ever since, French just chalks it all up to his rising star and what he views as 50’s declining position in rap. “Things people do when they’re cold. That’s what happens,” he told Drama.

The interview was all negative though, French went on to promote his latest Mac & Cheese 3 mixtape and announced an upcoming tape with Future called Medusa.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
