Last week Beyonce sported a pair of "Obama" earrings during a casual outing in New York City and, not unexpectedly, they're now a very in-demand item. Sales of the gold hoop earrings, designed by Erika Pena have apparently skyrocketed since Bey wore them in NYC.

According to TMZ, Pena had only sold 5 pairs of the earrings until Beyonce decided to wear them, and now she's well over 1, 300 pairs sold. Pena says that the orders have been local as well as international, with orders coming in from countries like Argentina and Switzerland, with a high concentration coming from London.

Beyonce and Jay-Z have been very involved in President Obama's reelection campaign, raising $4 million during a recent fundraiser.

In February, the 31-year-old star is set to perform at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show. This will mark Beyoncé's first halftime performance, but she did sing the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004 in her native Houston, when the New England Patriots took on and defeated the Carolina Panthers.

Look like a new Pepsi commercial is also on the way.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
