We cannot wait to meet Dr. King Schultz in "Django Unchained."

The folks over at Columbia Pictures must have known that fans are thrilled to see what Christoph Waltz's second partnership with director Quentin Tarantino will look like, because a new poster for the flick focuses specifically on Schultz. With his top hat on and his gun in hand, Waltz makes a very intimidating bounty hunter.

Though the movie is called "Django Unchained," it seems as though Schultz will have a pretty major supporting role. We know that he and Jamie Foxx's Django spend a lot of time together after Schultz enlists Django to assist him as a bounty hunter, so it seems safe to assume that the flick won't be entirely Django-centric. We're really excited about seeing these two partner up on screen.

Hopefully this new image means that we're going to get a whole slew of character posters over the next few weeks. Since we've already seen plenty of Django, we'd love to see more of Leonardo DiCaprio's Calvin Candie and Jonah Hill's Klu Klux Klan member. Who are we kidding: We're perfectly happy just taking whatever we can get from this new film.

"Django Unchained" follows Django (Foxx) as he seeks to rescue his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from the men who captured her. He teams up with Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), a bounty hunter who enlists him to help him catch his quarry before they go on to find Django's wife. Their hunt leads them to a plantation called "Candyland," run by the delightfully villainous Calvin Candie (DiCaprio). Based on what we know about the project, things spiral quickly out of control from that point onwards. The film is due in theaters on Christmas Day.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
