New York University students are in for a treat this coming Spring semester when they see Professor ?uestlove on their syllabus. From DJing, being part of the house band on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," producing for various artists--on top of being a hip hop connoisseur-?uestlove can now add professor to his resume.

?uestlove and Universal Music’s Harry Weinger are teaching a class called "Classic Albums" at the Clive Davis Institute for Recorded Music at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. The class will take an in-depth look at how certain albums were able to stand the test of time, breaking down music, lyrics, production, business aspects, and more. Some of the albums that NYU students will study include Prince's Dirty Mind, Michael Jackson's Off the Wall, and The Beastie Boys' Paul’s Boutique.

This isn’t the first time hip-hop has made an impact at NYU. In 2010, Swizz Beatz was named producer-in-residence.

Would you sign up for ?uestlove's NYU course?

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
