Oscar winner, Morgan Freeman, is the latest a-list actor to narrate an ad for President Obama's re-election campaign. Released just this weekend, "Challenges” touts the President’s accomplishments over the length of his first term and his plans for revitalizing the middle class if elected for a second term.

“Every president inherits challenges," says Freeman as viewers are presented with a slide show of the President’s policies. “Few have faced so many. Four years later, our enemies have been brought to justice, our heroes are coming home, assembly lines are humming again. There are still challenges to meet: children to educate, a middle class to rebuild. But the last thing we should do is turn back now”.

Widely known as a supporter of the Obama Campaign, Freeman has already donated 1 million dollars to this campaign cycle, noting, “I am proud to lend my voice — and support — to those who defend him."

Oscar-nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson has also lent his talent to the cause, recently starring in the Jewish Council for Education and Research’s effort to re-elect President Obama, a video called “Wake the F--- Up”. In the rhyming narrative punctuated with F-bombs, the ad canvases topics ranging from gay rights issues and education to student debt and Medicare.

You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
