'The World's End' Is Prophesied In New Poster

Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost have been hard at work on the conclusion to their trilogy, which also included "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz," and while the movie is more than a year away for us in the States, the first poster for the apocalyptic comedy debuted today for at [url="http://www.fandango.com/movieblog/exclusive-poster-premiereand-release-date-for-worlds-end-723360.html"]Fandango[/url].

On top of Pegg and Frost, "The World's End" boasts an impressive cast full of Wright regulars, including Martin Freeman and Paddy Considine. Rosamund Pike will aslo star.

Official synopsis:

[indent][i]20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.[/i]

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
