The 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards aired Tuesday night (October 9), with performances ranging from Wiz Khalifa (who kicked off the show) to Rick Ross and T.I., (who performed his singles "Go Get It" and "Trap Back Jumpin," below) but one of the most jam-packed sets came from Future, Diddy, French Montana and Uncle Luke. Check out performance recaps after the jump.

Future took the stage solo, opening with "Turn on the Lights," but he wasn't alone for very long. The Atlanta rapper sported a blazer for his performance, as the crowd sang along with him and images of women flashed across the LED screens. While the vibe started off a bit mellow, Future turned things up a notch when he segued into his smash "Same Damn Time" and none other than Diddy joined him to drop his remix verse. At this point, there were no more women flashing on the screens, just bills.

Diddy, donning a fresh Brooklyn Nets cap with a black-and-white leather jacket, seemed to be having a grand ol' time, and next, he invited Bad Boy artist Machine Gun Kelly to the stage. But in what universe would MGK make a normal entrance? He emerged hanging from the rafters, while beginning to rap "Wild Boy," and by the time he was cut free from his harness — yeah, we were worried he wasn't even wearing one — he darted through the crowd, passing out high fives.

Topping MGK's energy is no easy feat, but French Montana at least dressed for the past in his black-and-gold Versace outfit, performing "Pop That" with some help from Diddy and a cameo from Uncle Luke.

On the red carpet of the awards show, Luke told MTV News that he needed to chat with Diddy about getting paid for his sample on "Pop That," and hopefully they got things sorted out.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
