Nicki Minaj Laughs Off Mariah Carey's Accusations On Twitter

The conflict between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj doesn't seem to be dying down anytime soon. Carey opened up about the "American Idol" confrontation in a chat with Barbara Walters, and Minaj decided to respond the good old fashioned way: on Twitter.

"The struggle to be a victim is real in these streets. Lmaooooooooooo. The struggle to not have the kid on the show is real in these streets. Lmaooooooooo," she wrote, poking fun at Carey's claims that Minaj is "unpredictable."

"Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she's a black rapper. Lmao. I'll then hit up Barbara n milk it," she wrote, addressing Carey's claim that Minaj threatened to shoot her. (Producer Nigel Lythgoe has denied that Minaj threatened Carey in any way in a statement to TMZ.)

"Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho," she continued, citing the original piece of tape that featured their fight. "Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz. #struggleface. I don't call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave. I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we've had since simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn. Tried to keep quiet but let's go!!!!"

Carey had mentioned in her interview with Walters that there was a meeting held where the hashed out the incident. "I thought we resolved it yesterday but I see u want ur pity party to continue," Nicki wrote.

Minaj also re-tweeted messages from her fans, who are clearly taking her side over Mariah's. "As if you would need a gun anyway. like. they actin like you was fightin an escaped t rex," @kingsleyyy tweeted. "Wwwaaaaiiittt was she tryna get nicki fired so she'd be the only female on the panel by claiming nic would shoot her? CRY," @Katy_Barb chimed in.

Hours before both women addressed their feud, fellow judge Keith Urban shared what it was like to be in the middle of their war of words. On Wednesday night, after he had filmed a second day in Charlotte, North Carolina, he attended wife Nicole Kidman's New York premiere of her film "The Paperboy" and joked to "Extra" that he felt like "the U.N." while the two ladies exchanged verbal barbs.

"I love it, I gotta say. Look, I love working with passionate people. I love artists. Everyone just sort of expressing themselves," he said. "It's a very alive and very invigorating work environment. A lot of passion. Randy [Jackson] is the craziest, so you know I'm predictable."

Filming seemed to go off without any issues Wednesday, ahead of this latest round of back-and-forth between the women. The judges are slated to evaluate talent in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, next.

Minaj had a final word for Carey ahead of those auditions: "All I do is compliment u. That's not enuff? Ur a legend, cheer up. U don't have to run down ur resume or feel intimidated. Shady McGrady..."
