It's been a long time coming, but tomorrow we'll finally see the first trailer for "The Lone Ranger."

Leading man Armie Hammer will present the theatrical teaser for the film on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" as production on the project nears an end. In anticipation of that release, USA Today has released a whole slew of new images from the flick and new interviews with Hammer, Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski.

"This is all about two guys who are on the same path, but who have come from two very different worlds," Hammer said.

The film certainly looks gorgeous, and we can't wait to see it's theatrical trailer to see these beautiful images in action. Verbinski seems to understand that a great Western is created not only by a good story and great acting but also by a good use of its setting. It looks like he, Depp and Hammer really embraced the culture of a Western when they created this film, and the love they put into it shows.

Though "The Lone Ranger" focuses on Tonto instead of the titular character, Hammer said it was still a major moment in his life when he got to utter the iconic "Hi-Yo Silver" cry.

"Right before the horse threw its legs up in that scene, the thought went through my head, 'I'm really about to yell this right now,' " he said. "As the horse landed, the whole crew roared. Johnny told me, 'That was blankety-blank awesome.' "

"The Lone Ranger" comes out July 3, 2013.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
