In the trailer for Seth Gordon's ("Horrible Bosses") newest film, "Identity Thief" we see Sandy (Jason Bateman) going about his daily routine, getting coffee and filling up his gas tank. What could go wrong?

Turns out Sandy's questionably unisex has led a woman on the other side of the country (Melissa McCarthy's Diana) to steal his identity and max out his credit card. What else is Sandy to do but track her down himself?

Check out the trailer after the jump!

The trailer shows both Bateman and McCarthy in their usual form. Bateman is a straight laced businessman who is charming and funny in a Michael Bluth kind of way. Meanwhile, McCarthy ("Bridesmaids") is irreverent and violent (in a hilarious way) as she is seen splurging with the stolen credit card and even punching Bateman in the throat several times in the trailer alone.

The film promises plenty of laughs and a surprising amount of action between the two as their chemistry will likely carry the film.

Offical synopsis:
Horrible Bosses’ Jason Bateman and Bridesmaids’ Melissa McCarthy lead the cast of Identity Thief, an all-star comedy in which a regular guy is forced to extreme measures to clear his name. With everything to lose after his identity is stolen, he’ll find out how crazed you can get trying to settle a bad credit score.

Unlimited funds have allowed Diana (McCarthy) to live it up on the outskirts of Miami, where the queen of retail buys whatever strikes her fancy. There’s only one glitch: The ID she’s using to finance these sprees reads “Sandy Bigelow Patterson”… and it belongs to an accounts rep (Bateman) who lives halfway across the U.S.

With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his world implodes, the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson heads south to confront the woman with an all-access pass to his life. And as he attempts to bribe, coax and wrangle her the 2,000 miles to Denver, one easy target will discover just how tough it is to get your name back.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
