J.K. Rowling Left The 'Door Ajar' For More 'Harry Potter' Stories

Rowling[/url] might be starting a new stage in her career with tomorrow's release of "[url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/04/12/jk-rowling-casual-vacancy/"]The Casual Vacancy[/url]," but that doesn't mean she's said goodbye to "Harry Potter" for good.

In an interview with BBC that aired earlier this morning, Rowling said that she's "done" with Harry Potter's story, but admitted that she has "left the door ajar" in case she ever wanted to return to his magical world. “If I had a fabulous idea that came out of that world, because I loved writing it, I would do it. But I've got to have a great idea," she said.

Our friends at [url="http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2012/09/26/jk-rowling-more-harry-potter/"]Hollywood Crush[/url] had their own list of ways that Rowling could extend the "Harry Potter" universe, but we'd be more than happy if she just wrote a follow-up to that awesome James Potter and Sirius Black-starring prequel she penned (literally) several years back.



Rowling also told [url="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19711553"]BBC News[/url] that she would love to have the freedom to go back and rewrite some of her earlier "Potter" books. We sort of love all the plot holes and inconsistencies from the series (uhh, what was the point of time travel again if it was only used for trivial things?), but we get where she's coming from.

"There were a couple of the 'Potters' and I definitely knew that they needed another year," she said. "I had to write on the run and there were times when it was really tough, and I read them, and I think 'Oh God, maybe I'll go back and do a director's cut', I don't know. But you know what, I'm proud I was writing under the conditions under which I was writing, no one will ever know how tough it was at times."

Just don't pull a George Lucas, Jo. We still wish old Anakin had never been replaced with Hayden Christensen in "Return of the Jedi."
