We know that it's been said before, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is back, really back this time. To mark the joyous occasion, the action star agreed to a lengthy sit down with Empire to talk past and future films, in particular "Breacher" from director David Ayer and a possible fifth "Terminator."

According to Schwarzenegger, "Breacher," formerly known as "Ten," will take on the ensemble format that made him enjoy "Predator" so much. The larger cast, in Schwarzenegger's eyes, takes some of the spotlight off of him and allows him to have a smaller-scale comeback.

"All of these projects are appealing because they give me the chance to slowly come back rather than rush into it," Schwarzenegger said. "I like the idea of starting again, but trying to come back halfway down and working my way slowly back up again. So that's the idea, to do more personal stories and ensemble pieces like 'Predator.' "

Schwarzenegger also revealed that his new film will share more than a large cast in common with the 80s sci-fi classic. " 'Breacher,' especially, will be very like a new 'Predator,' " he said. "It's a team around me and they get knocked off until there's only me left. Except in this case, there will be a different twist to the whole thing instead of some alien monster."

As for the long-in-development fifth "Terminator" movie, Schwarzenegger said he hasn't heard much. "I think (producer) Megan Ellison owns the rights to 'Terminator 16,' or whatever it is," he said. "They have been trying to put a script together but I've not seen it, so I've no idea. There's nothing on the drawing board at this point. Nothing on the plan."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
