Nicki Minaj Toys With Voting For Mitt Romney On Lil Wayne's Dedication 4

Nicki Minaj wasn't going to let Lil Wayne drop his Dedication 4 mixtape without hopping on at least one track. Last month she told MTV News that fans would go nuts when they heard the beat she was rapping over, but maybe she was also anticipating them going nuts when they heard her rapping about Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Nicki and Wayne happen to be spitting over the beat of Kanye West and G.O.O.D Music's "Mercy," but it's this line that caught everyone's attention: "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy bitches is f---g up the economy."

Although the Romney shout out has already become a topic of debate on social media between fans who are confused about whether or not she's serious, it seems more than likely that the YMCMB rapper is just working with a little sarcasm.

Back in June, Nicki started a health care debate on her Twitter account (in support of President Obama's new health care act) after the death of "Moesha" star Yvette Wilson. “That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved," she wrote to the president. "Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do?” and “@BarackObama I wouldn’t mind the millions they took if it was going to healthcare. Why should a poor person struggle to pay for MEDS sir?"

Nick has yet to comment on the line since the mixtape dropped, but even Talib Kweli could see what she was going for.

"Just heard a dude on Hot97 say he won't let his daughter listen to Nicki Minaj cuz she endorses Romney. Really? That's what it took? lol,"  he wrote. "I doubt Nicki seriously supports Romney. Her lyrics ain't political. She just wants y'all to talk about her & she winning cuz it's working!"

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
