You can never predict when Kanye West will go on one of his Twitter sprees, but when he does it’s sure to be good. On Sunday (September 2) Yeezy took to the tweets once again, this time hitting fans with some serious food for thought.

"I usually never tweet questions but I struggle with this so here goes... Is the word BITCH acceptable," he wrote the day after he and his G.O.O.D. Music fam rocked Philadelphia's Made in America Music Festival as Jay-Z's special guest.

"Is it acceptable for a man to call a woman a bitch even if it's endearing," Yeezy's train of thought began after someone questioned him about the use of the word bitch in his music. "Initially was offended by anyone questioning anything in my music," 'Ye admitted in his timeline.

The MC's 20-message dissertation pondered the use of the b-word as well as the taboo N-word in music and society as a whole. The VMA-winning rap artist didn't have many answers, but rather seemed to want to spark a discussion. Kanye even sent out a link to Lupe Fiasco's "Bitch Bad" video, which Lu premiered on the August 22 episode of MTV News' "RapFix Live" before hosting a roundtable discussion about the controversial clip and overall use of the word bitch.

"Is it ok to use bitch as long as we put BAD in front of it? Like you a BAD BITCH," Kanye wondered aloud before he revealed he at times edits his lyrics in an effort to be less offensive. "I will admit that I sometimes go back an omit cursing from my records. I like to use profanity as a tool and not a crutch."

It doesn't seem as if Kanye will shy away from the word bitch on his upcoming Cruel Summer, the G.O.O.D. Music LP. On a song titled "Perfect Bitch," Yeezy toasts to his main squeeze Kim Kardashian, who has said she is flattered by the track.

Near the close of his Twit-a-Thon, West hadn't come to a conclusion about whether or not people should use the word bitch. "I'm not tweeting to say what we need and what we don't...," he wrote. "I just wanted to think out loud with you guys today."

Do you think we should eliminate the word bitch from our collective vocabulary? Sound off in the comments.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
