Evelyn Lozada is speaking out about the domestic abuse she reportedly faced at the hands of ex-hubby Chad Johnson. In a new sit down with ABC’s Nightline, Evelyn tearfully says that she “loves him” still but the distance has helped following the assault, during which Chad alleged head-butted her.

“I would like for him to tell me he got help and that he’s working on himself,” says Evelyn when asked what she wants to hear from her ex. She says that “He loves football and he’s very driven and a great dad. He made a bad choice that destroyed his life, and I hate that I’m connected to that…It was his choice, it wasn’t mine.”

"It's the hardest thing in the world to walk away from someone that you really love. But you have to walk away because I have to protect myself."

Lozada detailed the moments leading up to the incident, explaining that she found a receipt for condoms in his car and confronted him about it.  "And then the next thing I know, he grabbed me by here [pointing to her head] and he head-butted me," she said. "I felt blood coming down my face… and I looked at him and I said, 'You just head-butted me?' And it just -- everything just felt if it was in slow motion."

The full interview will be aired tonight at 11:35pm ET on ABC.

Evelyn has been largely quiet following the incident. Last week, she was photographed in a flowing sundress, sunglasses and hat--seemingly on her phone--by photographers in Florida per TMZ.

On Aug 12, reports surfaced that Chad was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly head-butting Evelyn in the forehead during an argument. Cops arrived at the scene and the "Basketball Wives" star reportedly had injuries to her forehead.

A few days later, Evelyn released a statement via her publicist: "“It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
