What Runs Through Kanye West's Mind On Stage?

Kanye West and Jay-Z sent fans into a tizzy last summer when they took the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to perform their Watch the Throne hit "Otis," and while they made it look so easy, it does take some mental prep-work to get into performance mode. What runs through Kanye West's mind when he steps out in front of the crowd?

"When I go out on stage, I think about great performers throughout time, I think about the fans, I think about the music," Kanye tells MTV News. "I think about how hard it was to get here and how lucky I am to live the dream. This is the moment."

No word on whether or not Yeezy will return to the VMAs this year, but he and his girlfriend Kim Kardashian aren't too interested in chumming it up with host Kevin Hart. In a recent promo clip, the comedian tried to get tight with the famous couple, but they weren't exactly having it.

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
