Shia LaBeouf Really Tripped Acid For His New Movie

[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/313344/personmain.jhtml"]Shia LaBeouf[/url] is taking method acting to a whole new level.

We already know he's planning some indecent exposure for his upcoming film "Nymphomaniac," but it turns out that he also took the idea of "getting into character" a bit far in his indie "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman." [url="http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/story/2012-08-26/shia-labeouf-lawless/57336430/1"][i]USA Today[/i][/url] recently spoke with the actor about the upcoming movie, including the scene where his character trips on acid. It turns out that LaBeouf didn't want that experience to be fake.

"There's a way to do an acid trip like 'Harold & Kumar,' and there's a way to be on acid," he said. "What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that [electric] chair in 'Dead Man Walking.' These are the guys that I look up to."



Apparently things got a bit intense while filming the acid trip scene on set, as first time feature director Fredrik Bond wasn't too comfortable with the fact LaBeouf was actually on acid.

"Sometimes, it does get real," LaBeouf said to the day he shot the scene. "Too real for a [director] who's trying to keep a diplomatic set."

That's not the only flick LaBeouf is planning to go fully method for. When he caught up with MTV News recently while promoting "Lawless," LaBeouf teased that he's expecting to have real, unsimulated sex for his upcoming Lars von Trier movie "Nymphomaniac."

"[The movie] is what you think it is," he said. "It is Lars von Trier, making a movie about what he's making. For instance, there's a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we're doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we'll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening."

He added, "It's going to be a wild movie."
