Hey, horror movie fans, do you and your friends want to be the first to know about the scariest movie of the year before the rest of America does?

Well, Summit Entertainment and Tugg.com are putting the power in your hands. You have the opportunity to bring the film "Sinister" starring Ethan Hawke to your hometown for a week long engagement in your local theater prior to the film's October 5th theatrical release. To do make a screening request, check out this site.

If your city is one of the ones already listed, you can order tickets for that scheduled screening. If not, you can make a request by following the link at the bottom of the page. You can also use Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media outlets to help spread the word. If you get enough of your friends and family come to the screening, those in attendance will receive a limited edition collectible poster for "Sinister" and the filmmakers will be on hand for Q & A sessions in select cities, if you're lucky enough.

"Sinister," produced by the same folks that brought us "Insidious," "Paranormal Activity," and "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," stars Hawke as a crime novelist, who moves his family into a house where the last family who lived there died under eerie circumstances 9 months before. One night, he watches a box of strange videotapes hidden away in the attic that unleashes a dark force that threatens his family’s lives.

MTV News will be sitting down with Ethan Hawke later on this week as part of our Fall Movie Preview, so be on the look-out for that soon.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
