'Lincoln' Poster Proves Daniel Day-Lewis IS Honest Abe

As the summer movie season comes to a close, the big awards contenders have begun to ramp up their promotional campaigns. One of these films, Steven Spielberg's upcoming "[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/468315/moviemain.jhtml"]Lincoln[/url]," has left many in awe at the striking resemblance between [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/15539/personmain.jhtml"]Daniel Day-Lewis[/url] and the president he's portraying.

The [url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/08/07/daniel-day-lewis-lincoln-spielberg/"]first official still[/url] confirmed just how uncanny Day-Lewis looks as Abraham Lincoln, and a new poster for the film, which is due out this November, matches, if not surpasses, those expectations.

"Lincoln" will not take the typical approach to a biopic, but will instead focus on the final months of the president's life. You can read the official synopsis below.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
