Jaded turns 8 on Saturday 17th November with a warehouse party and extended after-hour session. Over Jaded’s 7th year, with the involvement of our friends from LWE, Jaded has spawned new a warehouse alter ego. The dedication of the Jaded collective has echoed out to the most devoted music lovers, and built a feeling of union and intensity that has seemed unreal at times.

It’s been a year of indulgence for Raymundo Rodriguez too, experimenting with tinctures of techno and house, always playfully aware of the moods he’s creating, whilst Krista’s bookings have become ever-more whimsical. To the organisers, Jaded is always inspired because the music is always evolving, and London’s after-hours should be the place where the workers and the real pilgrims can experience the zeitgeist in a more intense way.

For Jaded’s 8 year celebrations, we’ve invited an artist who exemplifies those ideals. Ellen Allien was originally inspired by London’s fledgling acid house scene, returning in the early 90s to Berlin where she pioneered the sound in clubs like Tresor and Fischlabor producing richly textured instrumental material like ‘Yellow Sky.’ It was in the late 90s that she decided to throw her own Bpitch control parties and from this, the label was born…

Always working with different producers with the moods of her albums morphing from electronic darkness to love songs and even to parody on her latest single Galactic Horse, she’s framed and inspired the sound of her home city, creating kaleidoscopic visions that draw us in in such a way, that she’s the artist we want to lead us past the darkest point of night and into the dawn.

Ellen Allien - Music producer and founder of the legendary BPitch Control Records Berlin is one of the leading figures of electronic music and one of Berlins most famous exports. Her music is best described as a blend of IDM and Electro Music, which is dance-floor oriented, yet, at the same time, has noticeable experimental elements, put simply she delivers some blinding techno! She has released five solo albums up to now to huge world wide acclaim and travels from country to country headlining the biggest festivals to playing at some of the most twisted afterhours..

Stephan Bodzin added to the Jaded 8th Birthday line up...

The hype is slowly building for the Jaded 8 Years Warehouse party, and we're ready to announce a headliner to join Ellen Allien... If Ellen's sound is for the cerebral dancer and lover of trance-inducing melodies, our second guest provides us with goosebumps and pure vibrations to the solar plexus. Stephan Bodzin has been one of the most influential figures in techno. Teasing the crowd is what he does best, with epic waves and chugging drums impeccably arranged in his own Bremen style. If the excerpts he's been playing to crowds recently are anything to go by, we are in for one of the most exciting and timely appearances from Herzblut head.

This year, as well as releasing a double compilation mix the week of the birthday, he's given us a live recording to warm us up for a night and day of techno... This is the final 3.5 hours from his 5 hour Jaded main room session, recorded live on 23rd September 2012.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
