Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson Dolphins Firing Captured On 'Hard Knocks'

The downfall of Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson has reached a sad public conclusion as his contract with the Miami Dolphins was dropped and the termination was shown on HBO's football documentary series "Hard Knocks."

Johnson, a longtime NFL player and reality TV star, was arrested last Saturday night (August 11) on a domestic abuse charge after reportedly head-butting his wife, "Basketball Wives" star Evvelyn Lozada. She is now filing for divorce, and the entire controversy has now cost Johnson his NFL job, television gig and even an endorsement deal with Zico coconut water.

The controversy came to a head in front of HBO's cameras in the last five minutes of the final episode of "Hard Knocks," a series which documents the brutality of NFL training camps. Johnson is called into coach Joe Philbin's office and seems to know that bad news is on the way.

"I don't know if this is working for the benefit of you, me, the Miami Dolphins or anybody else," Philbin says. And since this isn't fake reality TV, there's no melodramatic blow-up or drinks thrown. It's a professional termination from a disappointed coach to a player that now has much bigger problems.

Johnson, for his part, seems disappointed yet understanding. He apologizes, but doesn't quite admit guilt, saying he's sorry for "embarrassing the organization." In the end, both parties shake hands and part ways – Philbin with a full season ahead of him, Johnson with a big question mark.
