Evelyn Lozada Says Ochocinco 'Needs Help' After Assault

Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson was arrested this past weekend for reportedly head-butting his new wife, Evelyn Lozada, and although the NFL player told police it was an accident, the "Basketball Wives star" isn't changing her story. Johnson lost his Dolphins contract this week, and the couple's reality show "Ev and Ocho" was cut from VH1, and now Lozada has issued an official statement on the incident.

Via her publicist: “It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

Johnson has yet to speak out about the incident, but he was promptly released from his contract with the Miami Dolphins, and VH1 followed up by canceling the show. "Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," a VH1 rep confirmed to MTV News.
