'Looper' Viral Campaign And New International Trailer Go Online

"[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/409261/moviemain.jhtml"]Looper[/url]" is still a month and a half away from hitting theaters, but that doesn't mean we can't get in on the fun now.

Sony Pictures has launched the [url="http://www.loopermovie.com/"]official website[/url] for the Rian Johnson movie, and through it you can get to the film's viral campaign. Called [url="http://loopernetwork.com/"]The Looper Network[/url], the website is set up to act as a way gather new Loopers into the fold. It opened up to new members for the first time today and will seemingly start sending out missions on August 22, [url="http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=93592"]ComingSoon.net[/url] reports.



After signing up, fans will receive this confirmation email from "Abe," the character played by Jeff Daniels in the movie:

You are now one of the elite, one of the privileged class of Loopers who has been given a chance to thrive in this gutter of a world. I'm from the future, and if you think it's bad now, believe me— it only gets worse. [/indent]This is certainly an interesting way to set up the premise of Loopers. We understand the basic idea of how their job functions from the trailers that have been released, but somehow we think that the life of a Looper is a bit more complex than it first seems. This is a Rian Johnson movie we're dealing with, after all.
