Talk about some excellent news, dudes. Not only does it seem like "Bill & Ted 3" is actually happening, but stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are attached to reprise their roles and according to a new Vulture report, Dean Parisot is attached to direct.

But that means Parisot won't be able to start filming until after "Red 2" (which starts shooting in the spring) wraps, but there could be worse news. At least this movie is actually happening!

"Bill & Ted" creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson already wrote a script for the project that will share with audiences where Bill and Ted are in today's world instead of having the new movie be either a sequel or a prequel. Both Reeves and Winter have been interested in returning to the material for a while, so it seems like whatever script Solomon and Matheson created was good enough for them.

When MTV News caught up with Reeves back in April, he teased that a script was "six weeks away," which about lines up with the timeline Vulture is presenting. He also gave us some insights about how this movie will line up with the end of its predecessor.

"When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened," he said. "So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
