Kevin Hart is holding down the hosting duties at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards and...he tried to get some help from Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Yes, in a brand-new VMA 2012 promo spot, Hart tries his best to strike up a friendship with 'Ye and KK, suggesting matching outfits and sneakers (nope).

While we're not sure what the newly minted trio will wear to the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, we know when you can tune in to find out: The big show airs Thursday, September 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, live from Staples Center in Los Angeles. West is, of course, well represented, picking upnominations both as a solo artist and as part of the Throne (he'll go head-to-head with himself in the race for Best Hip-Hop Video).

Rihanna and Drake are the night's most-nominated acts, with five apiece, followed by Katy Perry with four and by a host of up-and-comers (Frank Ocean, Fun., etc) and established VMA vets (Maroon 5, Justin Bieber) close behind. You can vote now in all VMA categories.

In addition to Hart's hosting duties, both Alicia Keys and One Directionhave been announced as performers at the show, with more to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
